New Regional Targets Highlight Bygoo's Discovery Potential

Caspin Resources (ASX:CPN) is expanding its footprint at the Bygoo Tin Project with three fresh exploration targets emerging from recent soil sampling and reconnaissance drilling. These targets, located at the Moss and Ardlethan prospects, exhibit strong geochemical anomalies indicative of tin mineralisation halos, signalling a district-scale opportunity beyond the already promising Kelpie Deposit.

The Moss Prospect stands out with a newly identified soil anomaly that rivals the magnitude of Kelpie’s signature geochemical footprint, located just 500 metres along strike. Drilling has commenced here, aiming to test the core of this anomaly with reverse circulation (RC) holes following a revised geological interpretation informed by gravity and induced polarisation (IP) data.

Ardlethan Prospects Reveal Broad Alteration Halos

Near the historic Ardlethan Mine, the largest mainland Australian tin producer before its 1986 closure, two distinct mineralisation styles are emerging. At Ardlethan East, breccia-hosted targets have returned encouraging rock chip results including 4 metres at 0.49% tin from shallow depths, despite being concealed beneath alluvial cover that likely masked previous exploration efforts.

Meanwhile, the Ardlethan South prospect shows a strong tin and pathfinder anomaly stretching over a kilometre along the granite contact, akin to the Kelpie setting. Drilling 400 metres from this target zone delivered broad zones of copper, silver, and tin anomalism, consistent with a zoned hydrothermal mineral system. These findings suggest substantial alteration halos that could guide future discovery of blind tin deposits.

Kelpie Deposit Extension Drilling Reinforces Resource Growth

Alongside regional exploration, Caspin continues to advance resource extension drilling at Kelpie, which recently yielded high-grade intercepts such as 20 metres at 2.11% tin and 3 metres grading 9.32% tin. These results support the company’s plan for an updated resource estimate due in September, reinforcing Kelpie’s role as the project’s cornerstone.

Managing Director Greg Miles highlighted the rarity of modern exploration in the Ardlethan area despite its mining history, describing the new targets as "highly prospective" and emphasising the comprehensive nature of Caspin’s recent programs, the most extensive since the early 1980s. He noted that the company’s approach leverages advanced geochemical and geophysical techniques to unlock concealed mineralisation.

Next Steps in Exploration and Resource Development

Drilling at Moss is ongoing, with assay results from earlier holes expected shortly. Following this, Caspin plans to focus on the Ardlethan South and East prospects, supported by planned IP surveys to refine structural and lithological targets. These geophysical surveys aim to map key fault intersections and potentially detect sulphide mineralisation associated with tin ore.

This regional exploration program runs in parallel with diamond drilling at Kelpie, maintaining momentum toward resource growth. Caspin’s strategy reflects a clear ambition to delineate a district-scale tin system, with additional greenfield targets under development to sustain the discovery pipeline.
