High-Grade Drilling Strengthens Kobada's Resource Base

Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) has delivered a fresh set of compelling assay results from its pre-production reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Kobada Gold Project in Mali. The northern sector of the existing 2.2 million ounce (Moz) Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) continues to reveal impressive widths and grades, including standout intercepts such as 44 metres at 3.12 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 164 metres, featuring a 1-metre pulse at 33.4 g/t, and 58 metres at 1.22 g/t from 96 metres depth. These results not only confirm the robustness of Kobada's high-grade core but also provide critical data to enhance resource confidence ahead of an imminent MRE update.

Resource Update and Development Milestones on Track

Building on 26,000 metres of new resource definition drilling, the MRE update is underway and scheduled for completion by the end of the third quarter of 2026. This update will feed into an Ore Reserve estimate and detailed mine plan revision expected in the fourth quarter, setting the stage for final pre-production planning. Toubani’s Managing Director, Phil Russo, emphasised the consistency of these drilling results as a strong validation of Kobada's quality and the company’s confidence in progressing toward mining operations targeted for early 2027.

Expanding Exploration Footprint at Foroko and Gosso

While the northern Kobada infill drilling wraps up, exploration momentum continues at the nearby Foroko and Gosso prospects. Two RC rigs are actively delineating mineralisation at Foroko, with plans to transition to Gosso thereafter. Both areas are being evaluated for near-surface, open-pittable oxide mineral resources that could supplement Kobada’s mill feed, potentially enhancing operational flexibility and extending the mine life. In parallel, aircore drilling has commenced south of Kobada, targeting extensions of known mineralised structures along a 50-kilometre strike length within the company’s permits.

Technical Rigor and Exploration Strategy

The drilling program adheres to rigorous sampling and assay protocols, with samples analysed at the accredited SGS Laboratory in Bamako using fire assay techniques. Drillholes are designed perpendicular to mineralised structures to minimise sampling bias, and quality control measures including standards and duplicates are in place to ensure data integrity. The company also plans to trial Induced Polarisation geophysical surveys to better map subsurface structures, a technique proven effective in West African greenstone belts for targeting high-grade zones.

Looking Ahead to Production

With construction advancing and financing secured, these drilling results provide a timely boost to Toubani’s development narrative. The updated MRE and Ore Reserve will underpin the final pit design and mining schedule, critical components as the company moves towards its goal of bringing one of West Africa’s next major gold assets into production. However, the true impact of ongoing drilling at Foroko, Gosso, and southern extensions remains to be fully understood, leaving room for potential resource growth or operational adjustments as new data emerges.
