Augustus Minerals Hits 19.5g/t Gold at Music Well with New Drilling Planned

Record Gold Grade at Clifton East Prospect

Augustus Minerals (ASX:AUG) has reported a standout 19.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold intercept from its June 2026 reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Clifton East prospect within the Music Well Gold Project in Western Australia. The high-grade hit came from a one-metre interval between 73 and 74 metres in hole MWRC0019, marking the best assay returned to date from the project.

This result sits within broader mineralised zones, including 8 metres at 3.27g/t gold from 72 metres in the same hole, and other notable intersections such as 12 metres at 0.94g/t gold in MWRC0015. The drilling program has now confirmed continuous gold mineralisation associated with pervasive hematite and characteristic alteration minerals over a 400-metre strike length within a 1.2-kilometre soil anomaly.

Structural Insights Point to High-Grade Vein Targets

Diamond core drilling at Clifton East has provided structural data indicating that higher-grade gold is linked to pyritic quartz veins dipping steeply and obliquely to the broader alteration zones. The recently completed diamond hole MWD0001, drilled to 201.7 metres, is interpreted to intersect these veins, with assays expected within 5-6 weeks.

General Manager Exploration Andrew Ford highlighted that the 19.5g/t intercept illustrates the prospect’s potential to host discrete higher-grade shoots. Augustus Minerals plans to start a new RC drilling campaign in two to three weeks, focusing on northwest-oriented holes designed to ‘scissor’ existing drill lines and better test the geometry and frequency of these veins.

Expanding Exploration Beyond Clifton East

Alongside Clifton East, the upcoming drilling program will also target the St Patrick’s Well prospect, where rock chip samples have returned assays as high as 30.4g/t gold. This expansion reflects the company’s strategy to systematically test multiple high-potential zones within its extensive Music Well tenement package, which covers over 1,200 square kilometres in the prolific Leonora-Laverton Greenstone Belt.

The geological setting at Music Well shows parallels to the Golden Cities group of deposits near Kalgoorlie, one of Australia’s largest granite-hosted gold systems. This regional context adds a compelling dimension to the ongoing exploration, suggesting the potential for significant discoveries.
