SportsHero Partners with Razer to Expand HeroPlay Gaming Product Range

Technology By Sophie Babbage 3 min read

SportsHero Limited has inked a deal with Razer to offer over 1,000 gaming-related digital products via its HeroPlay platform, broadening its reach beyond mobile subscriptions into consoles and PCs across Southeast Asia.

  • Partnership includes 1,000+ gaming vouchers and e-pins
  • Extends HeroPlay beyond mobile casual gaming subscriptions
  • Targets mass-market gamers on console, PC, and mobile
  • Revenue from commissions on voucher sales via telco channels
  • Integration and product rollout expected this quarter

Razer Deal Opens Door to Console and PC Gamers

SportsHero Limited (ASX:SHO) has taken a significant step in its HeroPlay Gaming Universe strategy by signing a supply agreement with global gaming brand Razer. The deal will add over 1,000 gaming-related digital products; including top-up vouchers for heavy-hitters like Mobile Legends, PUBG, and Free Fire, as well as e-pins for PlayStation Store, Xbox, and Roblox; to HeroPlay’s offering.

This move marks SportsHero’s first major expansion beyond its initial mobile casual gaming subscription product launched late last year. By incorporating Razer’s extensive catalogue, HeroPlay aims to tap into a broader mass-market audience across console, PC, and mobile platforms throughout Southeast Asia.

Strategic Fit with Telco Partnerships and Market Reach

Razer’s stature as a lifestyle brand for gamers, with its Razer Gold payment platform boasting hundreds of millions of users worldwide, complements SportsHero’s existing telco partnerships, such as the one with Indonesia’s Indosat. This synergy is designed to reduce execution risk and strengthen HeroPlay’s appeal to telcos, operators, and publishers.

Revenue from the Razer product sales will primarily come from commissions on vouchers sold directly or through telco channels, with SportsHero retaining full margin on direct sales and sharing margins with telcos otherwise. The company did not disclose specific margin rates, which may vary by channel and product.

Building a Diversified Gaming Commerce Ecosystem

The global gaming market, estimated at US$205 billion in 2025, includes a US$22 billion segment for vouchers and gift cards; significantly larger than the US$13 billion gaming subscription segment where HeroPlay initially launched. SportsHero’s strategy is to progressively expand into these larger segments, including in-app purchases and advertising, through multiple supplier agreements.

SportsHero is already in talks with other gaming publishers and brands to broaden its product range further. The Razer deal is the first of what CEO Tom Lapping expects will be a series of strategic partnerships to build a comprehensive gaming universe accessible via telco distribution.

Integration and Commercial Outlook

Integration of Razer’s products into HeroPlay will start immediately, with availability expected within the current quarter. The agreement carries no minimum expenditure or recurring fees, meaning revenue depends entirely on successful sales execution.

SportsHero’s initial HeroPlay launch with Indosat generated encouraging subscriber growth and engagement metrics, validating the telco partnership model. The company recently secured a second major Indonesian telco deal, expanding its reach to over 73 million subscribers, which will be critical to scaling the new product verticals introduced by the Razer partnership.

Bottom Line?

The Razer partnership broadens HeroPlay’s product mix and market reach, but success hinges on effective integration and telco collaboration to convert a wider gaming audience into paying customers.

Questions in the middle?

  • How quickly can SportsHero scale sales of Razer vouchers through telco channels?
  • Will additional supplier agreements materialize to further diversify HeroPlay’s offerings?
  • How will competition in the Southeast Asian gaming voucher market respond to HeroPlay’s expanded catalogue?
