High-Grade Gold Intercepts Confirm Resource Upside at BST1 and BST2

Aurum Resources (ASX:AUE) has unveiled impressive assay results from 46 diamond drill holes totaling 8,835m at its Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire. The drilling, part of an ongoing 100,000m campaign, focused on the BST1 deposit and the BST2 prospect, revealing multiple high-grade gold intersections that reinforce the project's growth potential.

At BST1, which currently hosts a 22Mt resource grading 0.8 g/t Au for 570,000 ounces, standout results include 3m at 80.09 g/t Au from 66m (including 2m at 117.73 g/t Au) and a 38m intercept averaging 4.20 g/t Au from 65m. These intercepts not only confirm shallow, high-grade mineralisation but also extend gold beyond the existing Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), with mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike.

Meanwhile, BST2, a prospect without a current resource, delivered promising results such as 3m at 27.65 g/t Au from 144m (including 1m at 78.13 g/t Au). These findings validate the prospect's potential and set the stage for further drilling to delineate a resource.

Aggressive Drilling Program Underway to Accelerate Resource Growth

Aurum has ramped up its drilling capacity with 16 owned diamond rigs operating across Boundiali and the Napié Gold Project, where a 30,000m program is also planned. The company aims to complete 130,000m of drilling in 2026, targeting resource expansion and confidence upgrades ahead of a major MRE update scheduled for the end of Q3 2026.

Managing Director Dr Caigen Wang highlighted the strategic importance of these results, stating they "derisk and build our resource base for the Boundiali Gold Project," while emphasising the company's strong cash position of A$54.7 million as of June 2026, which underpins ongoing exploration and development activities. The drilling results will feed directly into the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), expected late this year, following the recently completed Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) and environmental approvals secured earlier in 2026.

Boundiali Positioned for Development in a Prospective Gold Belt

The Boundiali Gold Project, hosting 3.22 million ounces of gold resources, lies within a prolific Birimian greenstone belt that includes major mines such as Resolute’s Syama and Montage Gold’s Koné projects. Aurum’s BST tenement, where BST1 and BST2 are located, is fully owned and subject to a mining licence application lodged in March 2025.

Gold mineralisation at BST1 is hosted in folded sedimentary rocks with structurally controlled quartz veining and visible gold, while BST2 was identified through extensive soil sampling and reconnaissance drilling. The company notes that mineralisation at both targets remains open, with follow-up drilling planned to test extensions beyond the current resource boundaries.

Exploration and Development Outlook

Beyond Boundiali, Aurum is advancing its 1.16Moz Napié Gold Project with a dedicated 30,000m drilling program and infrastructure improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Regional exploration continues with scout drilling planned across the BD, BM, and BST tenements to identify new targets, complemented by joint ventures such as the Encore JV and Major Star Plus partnership projects.

With a combined group resource of 4.4 million ounces of gold and a robust financial position, Aurum is well placed to accelerate its exploration and development pipeline. The next resource update for Boundiali, incorporating these latest assay results, is a key milestone ahead of the DFS completion targeted for late 2026.

Bottom Line?

Aurum’s extensive drilling results and strong balance sheet set the stage for a critical resource update and feasibility study that could reshape Boundiali’s development trajectory.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will the new high-grade intercepts influence the classification of resources in the upcoming Q3 update?
  • What are the potential risks to the DFS timeline given the scale of drilling and permitting activities?
  • Could the BST2 prospect evolve into a significant resource contributor with further drilling?
