Soil Sampling Program Completes Key Phase at Cinnamon

Nelson Resources (ASX:NES) has wrapped up a systematic soil sampling campaign at its Cinnamon Property in Nevada, marking a pivotal step in evaluating two high-priority targets: Sheba and Ophir. The program gathered 204 multi-element soil samples on a tight 50m by 100m grid along the Luning-Fencemaker Thrust Fault, a major regional structural corridor.

This groundwork underpins Nelson’s strategy to delineate the geochemical footprint of a broad intrusive-related hydrothermal system beneath the property. The results, pending lab analysis, will be combined with existing rock-chip, geophysical, and hyperspectral datasets to sharpen targeting for follow-up exploration.

Sheba Target Validates High-Grade Copper-Gold Potential

Reconnaissance rock chip sampling at Sheba has already yielded compelling results, with assays up to 1.95 g/t gold, 40.3 g/t silver, 0.287% copper, 0.98% zinc, and 6.63% lead. Elevated pathfinder elements such as arsenic, antimony, mercury, and cadmium suggest a shallow-to-distal epithermal system linked to an underlying intrusive-hydrothermal source.

Sheba sits on the footwall side of the thrust fault, coinciding with intense potassic and magnetic anomalies and epidote-chlorite alteration zones. Nelson plans to intensify detailed prospecting, geological mapping, and systematic rock-chip sampling here, aiming to expand and define the copper-gold mineralisation footprint more precisely.

Ophir Emerges as a Priority Near-Surface Tungsten Target

Ophir, located on the southern part of the property, stands out as a near-surface tungsten skarn target. It features intense epidote and chlorite alteration adjacent to a large iron-oxide hyperspectral signature, set within favourable Luning Formation limestone host rocks. Crucially, a previously unmapped quartz monzonite intrusion has been identified here, interpreted as a Late Cretaceous stock similar to those hosting tungsten mineralisation at the adjoining Pilot Mountain Project operated by Guardian Metal Resources.

Given its geological setting and alteration characteristics, Ophir is considered a high-temperature target close to a hydrothermal centre. Nelson intends to conduct detailed prospecting and systematic sampling to test this tungsten potential further.

Strategic Location Adjacent to Pilot Mountain Tungsten Project

The Cinnamon Property’s proximity to Guardian Metal Resources’ Pilot Mountain Project, one of the most advanced undeveloped tungsten projects in the United States, adds strategic significance. Historical drilling near the Pilot Mountain boundary has intersected tungsten mineralisation, reinforcing the prospectivity of the geological setting Nelson is exploring.

Nelson’s integrated approach combines airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysics, hyperspectral alteration mapping, and detailed field reconnaissance to build a comprehensive geological model. This model highlights four priority target areas, Sheba, Ophir, Levant, and Malabar, each showing distinct alteration and geochemical signatures indicative of potential mineralisation.

Next Steps Focus on Detailed Mapping and Sampling

With the soil sampling phase complete, Nelson is poised to advance detailed geological mapping and systematic rock-chip sampling at both Sheba and Ophir. Additional structural mapping and trace-element geochemical sampling are planned at Levant, Malabar, and Serica to identify fluid pathways and vector towards deeper mineralisation.

This multi-pronged exploration effort aims to rapidly refine and prioritise targets for potential resource definition drilling.
