Bison Resources (ASX:BSR) is uncovering compelling geological signs of a large-scale Carlin-type mineral system at its Bald Peaks Project in Nevada’s prolific Carlin Trend. Recent fieldwork has expanded on a previously reported 1.5-kilometre arsenic-antimony geochemical anomaly, with new mapping revealing extensive jasperoidal iron-silica alteration and gossanous breccia zones. These features are hallmark indicators of hydrothermal activity consistent with Carlin-type gold systems, which host some of the world's largest gold deposits.

The project’s structural setting, with a complex network of northwest-trending thrust faults and northeast-trending brittle faults, combined with fold-hinge geometries, creates an optimal environment for fluid migration and mineral deposition. This architecture mirrors that of major regional deposits such as Goldstrike and Maverick Silver, underscoring Bald Peaks’ potential.

Extensive Sampling Campaigns and Pending Assay Results

Bison’s field teams have collected an additional 310 rock chip samples across Bald Peaks, supplementing earlier sampling efforts, with all specimens now in the laboratory awaiting gold and multi-element assays. Alongside this, a comprehensive soil sampling program on a 100m by 100m grid has been completed, designed to detect pathfinder element trends and blind mineralisation beneath cover. These datasets will be integrated with airborne magnetic survey results, currently undergoing inversion modelling and litho-structural interpretation, to refine the geological model and prioritise drill targets.

The company expects assay results from rock chips within four weeks and soil sample results in approximately six weeks. This data will be critical to confirming mineralisation and guiding the maiden drilling campaign planned for later this year.

Broader Exploration Across Nevada Portfolio

Bison is simultaneously advancing exploration at its other Nevada projects. At Ruby Lake, geological mapping and sampling have commenced to evaluate intrusion-related systems such as porphyry and skarn copper-gold mineralisation. Cherry Springs and Medicine Range projects are also targeted for systematic soil sampling, geological mapping, and geophysical surveys to delineate mineralised trends and structural controls.

Strategically, the Bald Peaks Project sits adjacent to Torex Gold Resources’ high-grade Medicine Springs silver project and near Sun Silver’s 539 million-ounce silver-equivalent Maverick Silver deposit, both significant Carlin-type systems. Despite this prime location, Bison’s projects had seen little prior exploration, positioning the company to potentially unlock new discoveries in a tier-one gold district.
