High-Grade Gold Highlights at Arltunga

Genesis Resources Ltd (ASX:GES) has unveiled encouraging results from its recent reconnaissance rock chip sampling across its Arltunga and Alice Springs tenements in the Northern Territory. The standout news comes from Arltunga, where 53 samples taken from previously undrilled areas returned multiple assays exceeding 10 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, with the peak result hitting 28.8 g/t Au at the WP-10 prospect.

This level of gold mineralisation, discovered in old workings and trenches, suggests the presence of high-grade zones that warrant immediate follow-up. Other notable prospects at Arltunga, including Star Creek and Chinaman’s Workings, also yielded significant gold grades, with Star Creek samples up to 13.7 g/t Au and Chinaman’s Workings returning up to 3.7 g/t Au. Historical data referenced by Genesis indicates that Jenkins Mine, although lower grade in recent sampling, had an average head grade of 34.7 g/t Au during past mining operations.

Geological Setting and Sampling Details

The Arltunga tenement (EL 25238), located 110km east-northeast of Alice Springs, sits at a geological boundary between several metamorphic provinces. Mineralisation is hosted within Proterozoic metamorphic rock packages and overlying Heavitree Quartzite. The rock chip samples primarily targeted quartz veins and iron-rich schists known to host gold mineralisation.

Samples were collected in June 2026 and analysed at Intertek Laboratory in Adelaide using 25g fire assay for gold and multi-element ICP methods for other metals. The sampling strategy focused on key old workings and trenches, with some sampled every 20 metres, providing a detailed snapshot of mineralisation distribution.

Limited Alice Springs Sampling Flags Copper Anomaly

At the Alice Springs tenement (EL 24817), only 10 rock chip samples were collected due to unseasonal rain interrupting fieldwork. These samples, also analysed by Intertek, returned mostly low gold values, but one sample near the Diana 2 Prospect showed a significant copper anomaly at 1.2% Cu. This anomaly lies about 300 metres from the nearest drill hole, highlighting a potential new target for follow-up exploration.

Next Steps and Exploration Outlook

Genesis plans to undertake shallow scout drilling (up to 100 metres depth) across several high-grade gold targets at Arltunga during the 2027 field season. Key targets include WP-10, Star Creek, Chinaman’s Workings, and Jenkins Mine. These follow-up programs aim to test the extent and continuity of the mineralisation indicated by the rock chip results.

At Alice Springs, further reconnaissance and sampling are needed before any drilling can be planned, particularly to investigate the newly identified copper anomaly. The company is working with traditional owners and the Central Lands Council to clear ground for drilling activities.
