Green & Gold Minerals Confirms Strong Copper-Silver-Tin Potential at Elizabeth Bluffs
Green & Gold Minerals (ASX:GG1) has revealed significant copper, silver, and tin mineralisation at its Elizabeth Bluffs prospect within the Herberton Conductor Metals Project, supported by historic data and recent sampling. A 3,000m drill campaign at Mt Wandoo is set to commence in September 2026, aiming to extend high-grade gold-silver zones.
- Historic and recent sampling confirms copper, silver, tin mineralisation over 4km at Elizabeth Bluffs
- Notable historic grades include 8.5m at 1.08% Cu and 0.44% Sn, plus high-grade copper-silver-gold parcels
- 3000m drill campaign planned at Mt Wandoo to extend 2025 high-grade gold-silver intercepts
- Historic drilling at Elizabeth Bluffs considered incomplete, with key mineralised zones untested
- Further exploration planned at Copper Hills, Siberia-Mt Gossan, and Elizabeth Bluffs
Elizabeth Bluffs Emerges as a Polymetallic Target
Green & Gold Minerals has spotlighted the Elizabeth Bluffs trend as a standout target for copper, silver, and tin within its Herberton Conductor Metals Project. Spanning a 4-kilometre-long, weathering-resistant chert zone, the prospect hosts mineralised veins and historic workings primarily focused on tin but with compelling copper and silver potential.
Historic underground sampling recorded an 8.5-metre true width of copper mineralisation grading 1.08% Cu and 0.44% Sn, significantly wider than the roughly 1.5-metre tin veins historically mined. Moreover, parcels of ore smelted in the 1930s reportedly contained exceptional grades of 15% Cu, 684 g/t Ag, and 15.5 g/t Au, indicating a polymetallic system richer than previously appreciated.
Recent Sampling Validates Historic Potential
Rock chip sampling by Green & Gold Minerals in August 2026 using portable XRF confirmed high-grade copper, tin, and silver at surface. Highlights included 684 g/t silver, 5.2% tin, and 3.7% copper in spot readings, though these are indicative rather than representative of average grades. The company acknowledges the limitations of spot XRF but views these results as encouraging for follow-up exploration.
Historic drilling at Elizabeth Bluffs remains shallow and incomplete. The sole drill hole beneath the Elizabeth Mine workings terminated prematurely without significant intercepts, while four holes testing a magnetic anomaly nearby returned only peripheral mineralisation. This leaves key parts of the mineralised chert largely untested, with Green & Gold Minerals planning further geological mapping and targeting to define drill priorities.
Mt Wandoo Drill Campaign Targets Resource Growth
Alongside Elizabeth Bluffs, Green & Gold Minerals is gearing up for a 3,000-metre drilling program at its Chillagoe Gold Project’s Mt Wandoo prospect, scheduled to start in September 2026. The existing inferred resource of 905kt at 1.11 g/t Au and 13 g/t Ag covers only about 30% of the mineralised strike, leaving ample room for expansion.
Late 2025 drilling at Mt Wandoo uncovered multiple shallow high-grade gold-silver zones, including 9 metres at 7.9 g/t Au and 51 g/t Ag, and 19 metres at 2.9 g/t Au. The upcoming campaign aims to infill resource gaps and test extensions beyond current boundaries, potentially boosting mineable ounces. The company also plans metallurgical sampling and open pit mining studies, with nearby Legacy Mines’ Mungana processing facility offering regional treatment options.
Ongoing Exploration Across Herberton Project
Green & Gold Minerals intends to continue exploration through the December quarter at other key prospects including Copper Hills and Siberia-Mt Gossan. Two reverse circulation holes at Mt Gossan have been completed, with assay results expected soon. The company’s strategy reflects a multi-target approach across a prolific historic mining district with modern exploration techniques.
Managing Director Quentin Hill highlighted Elizabeth Bluffs as "a very exciting prospect" with historic records indicating outstanding polymetallic mineralisation that has been under-drilled. He emphasised the project’s potential to deliver compelling targets as the company advances exploration and resource definition.
Bottom Line?
The Elizabeth Bluffs prospect adds a new polymetallic dimension to Green & Gold Minerals’ portfolio, but drilling will be crucial to confirm and expand mineralisation. The upcoming Mt Wandoo campaign offers a nearer-term path to resource growth and development studies.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the planned drilling at Elizabeth Bluffs confirm the extent and grade of polymetallic mineralisation suggested by historic data?
- How will assay results from the September Mt Wandoo drill program influence resource estimates and mining studies?
- What role might Legacy Mines’ Mungana processing facility play in accelerating development options for Chillagoe and Herberton ores?
