NexGen Extends High-Grade Uranium Zone by 17 Percent at Patterson Corridor East

Significant Vertical Expansion at Patterson Corridor East

NexGen Energy Ltd. (ASX:NXG) has pushed the vertical limits of its high-grade uranium subdomain at Patterson Corridor East (PCE) to 644 metres, a 17% increase from previous extents. Drill hole RK-26-293 was pivotal, intersecting 4.7 metres of mineralisation above 10,000 counts per second (cps) with a peak 0.1 metre interval exceeding 61,000 cps at 930 metres depth. This substantial vertical growth underscores the discovery’s expanding footprint within the Rook I Project.

Drill Holes Confirm Robust Continuity and Grade

The summer 2026 drilling campaign at PCE has delivered standout results, particularly from holes RK-26-290c1 and RK-26-294. RK-26-290c1, designed as a down-plunge test, intersected multiple stacked uranium veins over a 40-metre interval, including 19.5 metres above 10,000 cps and 5.2 metres exceeding 61,000 cps, the strongest drill hole to date at PCE by this measure. Meanwhile, RK-26-294 confirmed strong internal continuity, intersecting 6.9 metres above 10,000 cps with 3.1 metres off-scale (>61,000 cps) mineralisation, located 27 metres up-dip from a previously notable hole (RK-24-222).

These two holes currently rank as the best and third-best intersections at PCE since discovery, reinforcing the geological model’s accuracy and the high-grade subdomain’s potential. Additional drilling, such as hole RK-26-296, extended the up-dip boundary by 50 metres, further expanding the shallowest part of PCE.

Operational Acceleration with Additional Drill Rig

In response to the encouraging results, NexGen is adding a fifth drill rig to its summer program, aiming to accelerate the delineation and expansion of the mineralised zones. To date, the 2026 program has completed over 20,000 metres of drilling, with a total target of 42,000 metres planned for the year. Eleven holes totaling 7,425 metres have been drilled this summer, focusing on high-grade growth and testing mineralisation extents.

Vice President of Exploration Jason Craven highlighted that the growth of the high-grade subdomain continues to exceed expectations, with mineralisation remaining open in most directions. CEO Leigh Curyer emphasised that while construction of the Rook I Project proceeds, the team is simultaneously advancing exploration to enhance NexGen’s long-term growth profile as a leading uranium producer.

Implications for Rook I Project Development

The expanded high-grade subdomain at PCE is a critical component of NexGen’s flagship Rook I Project, which is positioned to become the world’s largest low-cost uranium mine with strong environmental and social governance credentials. The newly intersected zones, with their broad hydrothermal alteration and intense mineralisation, suggest further potential for resource growth both vertically and along strike.

While gamma spectrometer readings provide a preliminary indication of mineralisation, true thicknesses and uranium grades await confirmation through resource modelling and assay results. The company continues to submit samples to independent laboratories, with further data expected to refine the mineral resource estimate.
