Gateway Mining Defines 7km Gold System at Ward Prospect

Extensive Gold Mineralisation Confirmed at Ward Prospect

Gateway Mining Limited (ASX:GML) has significantly expanded the exploration narrative at its Yandal Gold Project with aircore drilling at the Ward Prospect defining a +7-kilometre gold anomaly along a key structural contact. This discovery extends the combined strike length of mineralisation from Celia South through Cowza and now to Ward to over 13 kilometres, highlighting the scale and continuity of gold mineralisation within this underexplored corridor.

The recent drilling program delivered multiple high-grade gold intersections, including standout assays such as 4 metres at 4.0g/t Au from 88 metres, 4 metres at 3.7g/t Au from 96 metres, and 4 metres at 3.2g/t Au from 60 metres. These results build on historical drilling which had primarily targeted secondary footwall splay structures, with notable intercepts like 34 metres at 1.7g/t Au including 10 metres at 3.8g/t Au, underscoring the presence of a large-scale mineralised corridor.

Geological Insights and Structural Controls

Gateway's exploration team has refined the geological model for the Ward area, identifying the mafic-intermediate volcanic contact as the principal control on gold mineralisation, a feature previously under-targeted by historic drilling. This contact mirrors the structural setting that hosts high-grade mineralisation at the nearby Cowza system, situated just six kilometres along strike from Ward.

The aircore program's broad spacing and reconnaissance nature nevertheless revealed significant gold anomalism across multiple locations along the trend. This suggests potential for discrete higher-grade shoots within the broader mineralised system, akin to other deposits within the Yandal Greenstone Belt.

Exploration Strategy and Financial Position

With much of the Ward trend still lightly tested and limited deeper drilling conducted to date, Gateway plans focused reverse circulation (RC) drilling to systematically test the priority zones identified, particularly targeting the key structural corridor. Concurrently, RC drilling continues at Cowza, where initial results from the ongoing program are expected imminently, aiming to further delineate the scale and continuity of that gold system.

Gateway enters this phase well funded, reporting $15.7 million in cash and liquid securities at the end of the June 2026 quarter, positioning the company to advance its 2026 exploration agenda across the Yandal Gold Project.

District-Scale Potential Emerges

The emergence of Ward as a compelling new gold target within close proximity to the rapidly growing Cowza system underscores the district-scale opportunity within Gateway's Yandal portfolio. The geological parallels between the two prospects amplify the prospectivity of this underexplored belt segment, suggesting the potential for multiple significant gold centres.

Gateway's CEO Richard Pugh emphasised the importance of these findings, noting that the enhanced understanding of mineralisation controls at Ward advances the broader exploration potential of the project and complements ongoing successes at Cowza.
