Javelin Minerals Secures Mining Approval and $25m Funding for Eureka Project

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Javelin Minerals has cleared a major hurdle with final mining approval for its Eureka Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, positioning it for imminent production backed by a $25 million financing deal.

  • Final mining approval received from WA Department of Mines
  • JORC Mineral Resource totals 110,687 ounces at 1.69g/t gold
  • Recent drilling extends high-grade mineralisation near surface
  • MEGA Resources to provide $25 million project financing
  • Ore processing discussions underway with nearby mills

Eureka Project Now Fully Permitted and Shovel-Ready

Javelin Minerals (ASX:JAV) has secured final mining approval for its Eureka Gold Project in Western Australia, a key milestone that clears the path for mining operations to begin. The WA Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration has approved the Mining Development and Closure Proposal (MDCP), meaning Eureka is now shovel-ready with all necessary permits in place, including clearing and water approvals.

The project boasts a JORC Mineral Resource of 2.04 million tonnes at 1.69 grams per tonne gold, equating to 110,687 ounces, with an Indicated Resource of 1.36 million tonnes at 1.8 g/t for 78,678 ounces. This resource base underpins an approved mine plan targeting the planned Eureka and Eureka Northwest open pits.

Drilling Confirms and Extends Gold Mineralisation

This drilling success supports the project’s development pathway and suggests further resource growth potential, an encouraging sign for the mine’s longevity and scale.

$25 Million Financing Secured via MEGA Resources Agreement

Javelin has inked a Right to Mine agreement with MEGA Resources, a Goldfields mining services provider, which includes a $25 million project financing package. This funding is designed to fully finance the Eureka Gold Project through to production and positive cashflow, contingent on finalising an ore purchase agreement for processing Eureka ore.

Under the agreement, MEGA will provide geological, engineering, mining, and transport services, with upfront payments to Javelin triggered by the start of ore processing. Discussions with nearby mill operators are ongoing to secure processing capacity as soon as practicable.

Project Positioned for Near-Term Gold Production

With all key approvals secured and financing lined up, Eureka is poised to transition from development to production. The project’s location near Kalgoorlie, a well-established mining hub, and its well-defined resource base add to its attractiveness.

Javelin’s next steps include completing diamond drilling to test down-plunge extensions of the orebody and finalising ore processing arrangements. The outcome of these activities will be critical in defining the project’s production timeline and potential scale.

Bottom Line?

Eureka’s mining approval and financing mark a pivotal step, but finalising ore processing agreements will be crucial to unlocking production and cashflow.

Questions in the middle?

  • When will Javelin finalise the ore purchase agreement to trigger MEGA’s financing?
  • How might further drilling impact the resource size and mine plan at Eureka?
  • What are the terms and capacity of the nearby mills under negotiation for ore processing?
