High-Grade Copper-Gold Zones Emerge Within Nanadie Resource
Solstice Minerals (ASX:SLS) has reported a fresh wave of compelling drilling results at its Nanadie Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia's Goldfields, highlighting previously unrecognised high-grade zones both within and adjacent to the existing 40.4 million tonne Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). Notably, hole NANRC058 delivered a standout intercept of 83 metres at 0.96% copper and 0.44 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 143 metres to the end of the hole, part of a broader 172m intercept averaging 0.69% Cu and 0.30g/t Au starting just 54 metres downhole. These near-surface zones could have meaningful implications for future mine planning given their grade and accessibility.
Strike Extended and System Remains Open
Step-out reverse circulation (RC) drilling has pushed the Nanadie deposit's strike length to at least 1.3 kilometres, with mineralisation remaining open to the north, south, and at depth. Copper sulphides were logged consistently across all southern extension holes, including 14m at 0.53% Cu and 0.15g/t Au from 21m in NANRC052, and 23m at 0.40% Cu, 0.13g/t Au from 226m in NANRC054. This ongoing expansion underscores the deposit's potential to grow materially beyond its current footprint.
Diamond Drilling Highlights Deep High-Grade Zones and Silver
Diamond tail drilling has reinforced the potential for high-grade mineralisation at depth. Hole NANRCD024 returned 60.6 metres at 0.64% Cu, 0.33g/t Au, and 11.75 g/t silver from 381 metres, including a 10m interval grading 1.34% Cu and 1.52g/t Au. Elevated silver grades appear coincident with copper and gold mineralisation, particularly near a local cross-fault, although the commercial significance of silver remains to be fully assessed. These results, alongside adjacent holes, are driving further step-down exploration drilling to test the system's depth potential.
Accelerated Drilling and Infrastructure Expansion
Solstice is ramping up its drilling efforts at Nanadie, bolstered by expanded camp and core processing facilities that will support multiple RC and diamond rigs operating through the remainder of the year. With assays pending from over 30 completed holes and ongoing drilling campaigns, the company anticipates a steady flow of results to further delineate and expand the resource. CEO Nick Castleden emphasised the strategic importance of identifying higher-grade zones near surface and the potential for new discoveries at nearby targets like the Stark Prospect.
Nanadie’s Geological Setting and Resource Base
Nanadie sits on granted mining leases approximately 100 kilometres northwest of Sandstone, WA, within the Barrambie Igneous Complex. The deposit hosts an inferred resource of 40.4 million tonnes at 0.4% copper and 0.1 g/t gold, featuring disseminated and remobilised sulphide mineralisation within a layered gabbro package. The deposit's primary copper mineralisation is associated with pyrite, pyrrhotite, and minor precious metals, with a shallow weathering profile facilitating near-surface exploration. Solstice’s updated geological model suggests multiple mineralisation events have enriched and remobilised copper-gold sulphides, creating broad zones of high-grade mineralisation that remain open for further expansion.
