Breakthrough Minerals Extends High-Grade Copper-Gold at Turpentine

High-Grade Zones Confirmed Outside Existing Resource

Breakthrough Minerals (ASX:BTM) has reported a fresh tranche of assay results from its ongoing resource expansion drilling at the Turpentine Deposit, part of its North Queensland Copper-Gold Project. Among the highlights is a standout 5-metre intersection grading 3.21% copper equivalent (CuEq) from drill hole 26TUR005, confirming the presence of high-grade mineralisation beyond the current resource boundaries.

This new batch of results includes significant copper-gold intercepts from three recent holes: 26TUR005 (5m @ 3.21% CuEq from 137m), 26TUR006 (12m @ 0.87% CuEq from 235m, including 4m @ 1.42% CuEq), and 26TUR007 (26m @ 0.63% CuEq from 249m, including 15m @ 0.99% CuEq). These findings build on earlier drill results announced in August, which also showed robust mineralisation continuity and high-grade zones within the deposit.

Turpentine Remains Core to Resource Growth Strategy

Turpentine is Breakthrough’s flagship deposit, currently hosting an inferred mineral resource of 8.7 million tonnes at 1.16% CuEq, containing approximately 101,000 tonnes of copper equivalent. The deposit sits within the broader North Queensland Copper-Gold Project, which collectively holds a 200,000-tonne CuEq resource base.

The company’s drilling program targets the northern down-plunge extension of the Turpentine mineralised system, guided by gravity inversion modelling and magnetic data. The recent intersections from 26TUR005–007 provide compelling evidence of a well-developed mineralised system extending beyond the existing resource envelope, supporting Breakthrough’s strategy to grow the deposit.

Ongoing Drilling and Broader Exploration Plans

With approximately 4,000 metres drilled so far at Turpentine, Breakthrough is advancing a systematic exploration campaign to delineate and expand high-grade copper-gold zones. Drilling remains underway, with further assay results pending. Additionally, the company plans a 2,500-metre reverse circulation drilling program across other priority targets within the Hazel Creek Copper-Gold Project, including Turpentine South, Eight Mile Creek North, and Eight Mile Creek East.

These efforts are part of a larger 10,000-metre 2026 exploration campaign aimed at growing the company’s resource base across North Queensland. The focus remains on converting inferred resources into higher confidence categories and discovering new mineralisation to enhance the project’s scale and economic potential.

Technical Rigor and Resource Confidence

Breakthrough Minerals employs industry-standard sampling and assay techniques, with all samples processed at ALS Laboratories. Drill holes are oriented to optimise true thickness measurements, and quality control procedures include certified reference materials and field duplicates. The company’s geological interpretation and resource modelling continue to evolve as new data arrives, with the competent person confirming the reliability of the reported results.

Managing Director Nigel Broomham emphasised that the latest drilling results reinforce confidence in the Turpentine system’s scale and quality, highlighting the combination of width and grade that underpins the deposit’s economic promise. The company remains focused on resource growth, aiming to expand the 101,000 tonnes of contained copper equivalent at Turpentine and contribute to the broader 200,000-tonne CuEq inventory.
