Stephens Trig Drilling Confirms High-Grade Silver-Lead-Zinc Mineralisation

Kingfisher Mining Limited (ASX:KFM) has delivered a significant boost to its Broken Hill exploration portfolio with its first Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling at the Stephens Trig Silver-Lead-Zinc Prospect in almost a decade. The five-hole, 584-metre program has confirmed multiple intervals of high-grade silver, lead, and zinc mineralisation, validating historical drilling and underscoring the prospectivity of this underexplored Broken Hill-style system.

Standout results include a 1-metre intercept grading an exceptional 198 grams per tonne (g/t) silver alongside 1.5% combined lead and zinc from 111 metres depth, and a 2-metre interval with 17.5% combined lead and zinc plus 24 g/t silver. These grades reaffirm Stephens Trig as a compelling target within a 1.5-kilometre geochemical anomaly that had previously seen limited modern drilling activity.

Validation of Historical Data and Structural Continuity

The recent drilling not only corroborates historical results, which included intervals such as 12 metres at 9% lead plus zinc and 10 g/t silver, but also demonstrates the mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike. Hole 26STRC_018 notably returned 5 metres at 7.4% combined lead and zinc from 79 metres, including a high-grade 2-metre zone at 17.5% Pb+Zn and 24 g/t Ag, highlighting down-dip continuity within the system.

This continuity and strike extension beneath shallow cover reinforce the potential scale of the mineralised trend at Stephens Trig, a zone that lies about 15 kilometres north of Broken Hill and beneath alluvial cover in a low-relief river valley. The results confirm Stephens Trig as a significant Broken Hill-type (BHT) stratiform deposit, hosted within Palaeoproterozoic rocks of the Willyama Supergroup.

Broader Exploration Pipeline and Strategic Infrastructure Access

Stephens Trig now joins Kingfisher’s growing pipeline of high-grade base and precious metals projects in the Broken Hill district, complementing the Allendale silver-lead-zinc project and the flagship Copper Blow copper-gold prospect. The company’s strategy hinges on advancing multiple targets across its extensive 660 square kilometre NSW tenure, balancing greenfields exploration with resource definition.

Crucially, Kingfisher benefits from a Mining and Processing Agreement with Broken Hill Mines, which provides a strategic framework to potentially leverage existing regional processing infrastructure. This arrangement could offer a low-capital pathway to development for Stephens Trig and other projects, subject to further exploration and technical studies.

Kingfisher’s Managing Director Chris Bittar emphasised the significance of the results, noting that the high-grade silver-lead-zinc intersections, including the standout silver grade, validate the prospect’s potential and highlight the advantage of the company’s regional partnerships. The company plans to integrate these new results with historical data to prioritise follow-up drilling and refine its geological model.

Next Steps in Exploration and Development

Kingfisher is advancing its broader Broken Hill exploration program with ongoing work at Stephens Trig and Allendale, focusing on geological integration and target refinement. Meanwhile, drilling approvals have been secured for Copper Blow, with a program now expected to commence in October following regional weather delays. This drilling aims to expand the known mineralisation and test key geophysical anomalies, moving the project closer to a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.

Preliminary metallurgical testwork at Copper Blow is also scheduled, seeking to better understand processing pathways. Together, these activities underscore Kingfisher’s methodical approach to advancing its portfolio across multiple commodities and prospects within a premier mining district.
