Blue Devil Drilling Underway on Large Conductive Target
TechGen Metals Limited (ASX:TG1) has kicked off drilling at its Blue Devil copper-gold project, located 40 km northeast of Halls Creek in Western Australia’s East Kimberley region. The Blue Devil target is a standout geophysical anomaly featuring three strong late-time airborne electromagnetic (EM) conductors stretching over 2.75 kilometres of strike, sitting approximately 150 metres above an interpreted magnetic intrusive body.
Supported by copper and gold geochemical anomalies and satellite alteration footprints, the Blue Devil target represents a significant exploration opportunity within the 195km2 project area. The drilling program has received co-funding from the WA State Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), underscoring the strategic importance of this target.

Drilling at the nearby Red Devil target has concluded with hole BDDD001 reaching 375.1 metres. The hole intersected a sequence of interbedded sandstones, siltstones, and mudstones of the Olympio Formation. While widespread pyrite was observed, occurring as bands, disseminations, and along fracture planes, no copper mineralisation was visually identified.
The presence of pyrite explains the induced polarisation (IP) chargeability anomaly that initially attracted attention to Red Devil. Selected core sections will undergo multi-element assays, including for gold, to further evaluate the mineral potential.
Project Context and Future Plans
The Blue Devil Project encompasses exploration licences E80/6047, E80/6084, and an application E80/6101, covering a combined 195km2 in the Halls Creek Orogen. The area has a history of exploration dating back to the 1960s, primarily for diamonds and base metals, with previous work by Sipa-Gaia NL and Spartan Exploration contributing geological mapping and sampling.
TechGen’s current drilling campaign is fully funded, supporting ongoing exploration at Blue Devil and additional gold target drilling planned for Q4 2026. The company awaits assay results from both Blue Devil and Red Devil drill holes, which will be crucial in guiding subsequent exploration steps.
