Expansion of Mt Oxide Mineralised System

True North Copper Limited (ASX:TNC) has reported a significant extension of its Mt Oxide Project mineralisation in northwest Queensland, with the strike length now reaching approximately 2.3 kilometres, up from 1.8 kilometres. This growth is driven by new drilling results at the Aquila prospect and maiden drilling at the newly identified Chidna zone, which reveals a substantially wider mineralised footprint of about 300 metres.

The company’s Managing Director Andrew Mooney highlighted that Aquila continues to deliver high-grade copper mineralisation, with multiple shoots defined over an 800-metre strike. Chidna, located immediately north of Aquila, appears to sit within a dilational structural setting where the mineralised zone broadens from 40–60 metres at Aquila to around 300 metres, offering promising space for mineralising fluids and the potential for larger, higher-grade targets both near surface and at depth.

High-Grade Shoots at Aquila Confirmed

Drilling at Aquila has delineated multiple high-grade copper shoots within a broad mineralised envelope. Notable intercepts include 52 metres at 0.85% copper from 23 metres depth, including 9 metres at 1.89% copper. Other significant results from the A499 shoot include a 130-metre intercept averaging 0.67% copper with a 6-metre zone grading 5.7% copper, and 74 metres at 0.73% copper from another hole. The A494 shoot also shows strong continuity with intercepts such as 145 metres at 0.75% copper and multiple high-grade intervals exceeding 4% copper. These shoots remain open at depth and along strike, underpinning the potential for further resource growth.

Maiden Chidna Drilling Reveals Broad Mineralisation

Chidna drilling, a first pass for True North, has successfully confirmed a broad mineralised zone up to 300 metres wide, significantly wider than Aquila's 40–60 metre zones. Although topographic constraints limited optimal drill positioning, the holes intersected copper mineralisation associated with intense hydrothermal brecciation and multiple phases of copper sulphide mineralisation. These geological features suggest that Chidna may represent a feeder zone or a distinct hydrothermal centre within the broader mineralised corridor, with high priority shallow and deeper targets identified for follow-up drilling.

The mineralisation at Chidna includes copper sulphides such as covellite, chalcocite, bornite, and chalcopyrite, hosted within structurally controlled zones of fracture-fill mineralisation, stockwork veining, and hydrothermal breccias. The increasing alteration and structural complexity at depth indicate a fertile system that remains incompletely tested.

Emerging District-Scale Potential and Next Steps

Beyond Aquila and Chidna, the Mt Oxide Project hosts the Vero Resource and emerging polymetallic discoveries, with True North Copper interpreting a district-scale copper-cobalt-silver system that remains open along strike and at depth. Preliminary mapping and remote sensing have identified prospective structures extending an additional 2 kilometres north, suggesting a potential 4.3-kilometre-long mineralised structural corridor.

The company plans to continue its 2026 drilling program to expand the Aquila-Chidna mineral system, targeting new higher-grade opportunities near surface and at depth. Follow-up IP geophysics and regional exploration will refine targets for Phase 2 drilling. Concurrently, technical studies including metallurgy and geological modelling are underway to support long-term project development.

True North Copper’s three-platform growth strategy balances resource growth at Mt Oxide, near-term cashflow development at the Cloncurry Copper Project, and ongoing discovery efforts across regional targets, positioning the company to leverage its strategic foothold in the world-class Mt Isa mineral province.
