West Coast Silver Locks In A$5.92 Million for Elizabeth Hill Work

Mining By Maxwell Dee 2 min read

West Coast Silver has completed the main tranche of its A$6.0 million placement, raising A$5.92 million before costs for drilling, technical studies and resource updates at Elizabeth Hill. A final A$80,000 director tranche still requires shareholder approval.

  • A$5.92 million raised through Tranche One
  • 62.3 million new shares issued at A$0.095
  • A$80,000 director tranche awaits shareholder approval
  • Funds directed to Elizabeth Hill drilling and Scoping Study work
  • Mineral Resource Estimate updates included in planned programme

Main Placement Tranche Raises A$5.92 Million

West Coast Silver Limited (ASX:WCE) has secured almost all of its planned A$6.0 million equity raising, issuing 62,315,791 new shares at A$0.095 each under Tranche One. The issue raised A$5.92 million before costs and leaves only a small portion of the placement outstanding.

The full placement comprises 63,157,897 shares at the same issue price. The remaining A$80,000 would involve 842,106 shares to Chairman Vince Fayad and Non-Executive Director Thomas Reddicliffe, but those shares cannot be issued until shareholders approve the transaction at the company’s next general meeting.

Elizabeth Hill Receives Funding for Drilling and Studies

West Coast Silver plans to direct the proceeds into development and exploration drilling at the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project, alongside development testwork, a Scoping Study, regional exploration and progressive updates to the Mineral Resource Estimate.

The company said the placement leaves it well funded for its planned work programme, including ongoing drilling and advancing Elizabeth Hill towards a Scoping Study. That gives the next phase a defined technical agenda, although the announcement does not quantify the company’s post-raising cash balance or provide a revised project timetable.

Shareholder Vote Remains the Outstanding Condition

For investors, the immediate distinction is between capital raised and capital proposed: Tranche One is complete, while the director-related Tranche Two remains conditional. The shareholder meeting will therefore determine whether the placement reaches its stated A$6.0 million total, rather than the A$5.92 million already secured.

The more consequential test will come through the use of that money. Drilling results, technical testwork, the Scoping Study and future resource updates will need to convert the newly secured funding into measurable progress at Elizabeth Hill.

Bottom Line?

West Coast Silver has removed most of the funding question around Elizabeth Hill, but the investment case now turns to execution, technical milestones and approval of the final director tranche.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will shareholders approve the A$80,000 director tranche at the next general meeting?
  • How quickly will the funded drilling and testwork feed into an updated Mineral Resource Estimate?
  • What technical and economic conclusions will emerge from the planned Scoping Study?
