DPM Metals Finds More High-Grade Copper-Gold at Serbia Project

DPM Metals has extended mineralization beyond the existing Dumitru Potok resource in Serbia, led by a 21-metre interval grading 5.44% copper equivalent. The company will add up to 15,000 metres to its 2026 drilling campaign as it works towards a resource update and preliminary economic assessment.

  • 21 metres at 5.44% CuEq within a 50-metre interval at 3.68% CuEq
  • Mineralization extended up to 100 metres beyond the Dumitru Potok resource
  • 2026 drilling lifted to approximately 32,000 to 35,000 metres
  • Dumitru Potok resource update targeted for Q1 2027
  • PEA targeted for completion by the end of 2027

High-Grade Intercepts Push Dumitru Potok Beyond Existing Resource

DPM Metals Inc. (ASX:DPM) is stepping up exploration in Serbia after drilling extended copper-gold-silver mineralization beyond the existing Dumitru Potok Mineral Resource. The standout result was a 50-metre interval grading 3.68% copper equivalent, including 21 metres at 5.44% CuEq, in hole DPDD042.

The company said drilling has extended mineralization about 90 metres west and 100 metres southwest of the resource, while another hole, DPDD039A, returned 43 metres at 1.36% CuEq roughly 300 metres north of the existing resource. Those results point to potential growth at shallow levels, although the company has not yet converted the new intersections into a revised resource estimate.

Drilling Program Expanded to 35,000 Metres

DPM will add 12,000 to 15,000 metres to its 2026 program, taking planned drilling across the Čoka Rakita exploration licence to approximately 32,000 to 35,000 metres. Ten rigs are currently operating across the licence, with more than 16,000 metres completed as of September 8; the company expects that number to rise to 15 rigs at Čoka Rakita by year-end as equipment is relocated from other licences.

The expanded campaign will target step-outs and infill drilling at Dumitru Potok and Rakita North, along with the Frasen porphyry target and scout holes east and south of the Čoka Rakita deposit. Two rigs are focused on 50-metre by 50-metre infill drilling in the western contact-skarn zone, where the stated aim is to improve geological confidence and test mineralization continuity.

Rakita North Adds a Second Growth Front

At Rakita North, hole RADDGTH009C returned 76 metres at 2.66% CuEq, including 33 metres at 3.51% CuEq. The intersection supports continuity in the northeastern part of the existing resource and indicates potential for higher-grade mineralization to continue at depth.

Dumitru Potok also delivered broad results in other holes. BIDD253 intersected 246 metres at 1.36% CuEq, including 25 metres at 2.38% and 26 metres at 2.07%, while DPDD041 returned separate intervals of 84 metres at 2.06% and 51 metres at 2.17% CuEq. The company says mineralization remains open along strike, laterally and at depth at both prospects.

Resource Update and PEA Set the Next Valuation Tests

DPM plans to complete an updated Dumitru Potok Mineral Resource estimate by the end of the first quarter of 2027. That estimate is intended to form the basis of a preliminary economic assessment targeted for completion by the end of 2027, marking a shift from discovery drilling towards a more formal evaluation of the project's potential.

The results remain exploration-stage rather than economic evidence. Reported lengths are downhole intervals, and true widths for some contact-skarn intersections are expected to be smaller but cannot yet be reliably estimated. The CuEq figures also rely on early-stage metallurgical recovery assumptions of 90% for copper, gold and silver, while several holes remain in progress or have incomplete assays. The next resource update will need to show how much of the new mineralization can be modelled with sufficient confidence to support an economic study.

Bottom Line?

The drilling has improved the growth case for Čoka Rakita, but the decisive step will be whether the 2027 resource update turns open-ended intercepts into a larger, coherent and economically testable deposit.

Questions in the middle?

  • How much additional mineralization will be incorporated into the Dumitru Potok resource update?
  • Will further metallurgical work support the early-stage recovery assumptions used in the CuEq calculations?
  • Can the expanded drilling campaign maintain continuity and grade as it tests the open extensions at depth and along strike?
