Evion has identified a previously unmined 200m by 200m prospect at its Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada, just 300m from the historic South Pit. Assays are pending, with geophysical surveys and a potential maiden drilling programme next in line.

Untested Target Sits Beside Carp’s Most Productive Pit
Evion Group NL (ASX:EVG) has found what may be the most consequential exploration target yet at its Carp Fluorspar Project: a 200m by 200m zone that has never been mined, despite sitting roughly 300m southwest of the historic South Pit, the highest-producing of Carp’s four open workings.
The discovery remains geological rather than economic. Field mapping identified barite, hydrothermal brecciation, calcite veining and silica alteration within metamorphosed limestone and dolomite, the same carbonate host sequence that carried the fluorspar mined at Carp between 1958 and 1971. Ten rock-chip samples have been submitted for laboratory analysis, with results expected within weeks.
Barite and Structures Point to a Larger Exploration System
Barite is associated with fluorite across the Carp system and is particularly developed in the South Pit. Evion says the scale of the newly mapped occurrence, combined with its location on wholly untested ground, was sufficient to elevate the area for detailed mapping and sampling.
The prospect is also centred on two newly interpreted northwest-southeast structures traced for about 200m using satellite imagery. The company interprets them as analogous to structures controlling mineralisation elsewhere along the regional trend, within the broader north-south mineralised carbonate zone. That interpretation will need to survive the assay and geophysical work before it can support drill targeting.
Assays Come Before Any Drill Case
Evion collected 41 rock-chip samples during its first field programme across the project, including samples from the South, Central, West and North historic pits as well as the new prospect. No drilling results or mineral resource estimate are reported in the release, so the pending laboratory results are the next hard test of whether the surface indicators translate into meaningful fluorspar grades.
The historical numbers explain the interest but do not establish a current resource: Carp produced approximately 44,900 tonnes grading about 69% CaF₂, sold as metallurgical-grade product to Kaiser Steel Corporation without beneficiation. Evion also cites previously reported 2024 surface samples grading up to 88.15% CaF₂ across the historic pit areas. Those results sit in mined ground and should not be treated as evidence that the new target carries equivalent grades.
Phase Two Targets Maiden Drilling
Evion plans to mobilise a drone magnetic survey using 25m line spacing and a 25m flight height, targeted for completion by the end of October. Surface geochemistry is then planned across the north-south mineralised zone at mostly 25m by 50m spacing, with the programme targeted for completion by year-end.
The surveys are intended to combine the field observations, geophysical data and geochemistry into a geological model capable of prioritising a maiden drill programme. Drilling remains conditional on approvals for the Bureau of Land Management-administered land and on rig availability, making the sequence of assays, surveys and permitting more important than the discovery headline alone.

The new prospect gives Evion a credible exploration step beyond Carp’s historic pits, but the investment case still turns on assays, target definition and whether BLM approvals allow drilling to begin.
