Aurora Sampling Gives Golden Mile a Bigger Gold Target
Golden Mile Resources says follow-up surface sampling has expanded the exposed Aurora gold anomaly in Arizona to at least 280 metres wide and 450 metres along strike. The results strengthen the case for drilling, although the prospect remains an early-stage, undrilled target with open boundaries.

Aurora Anomaly Expands Across Exposed Granite
Golden Mile Resources Limited (ASX:G88) has enlarged the surface footprint of its Aurora gold prospect in Arizona, with the exposed anomalous zone now interpreted to measure at least 280 metres in width and 450 metres along strike. The company says the interpretation draws on the latest assays as well as field observations of shearing and alteration.
The strongest result came from the southern sampling line, which averaged 2.38g/t gold over approximately 126 metres. A second line through the central zone averaged 2.56g/t over about 55 metres, despite restricted outcrop. Both lines began and ended in anomalous gold, according to the announcement, suggesting the sampled intervals were not isolated by barren material at either end.
Follow-Up Sampling Maps Most of the Western Edge
Golden Mile collected a further 99 surface channel samples and five grab samples in July to test the outer edges of the anomaly. Of the channel samples, 55% returned more than 0.1g/t gold and 34% exceeded the company’s nominal 0.25g/t threshold.
Individual results included 4.49g/t gold in sample 26ACH101, 3.08g/t in 26ACH116 and 2.97g/t in 26ACH097. The company says the western boundary is now mapped with reasonable confidence, while the eastern side remains open where the mineralised granite is covered by the Cloudburst Volcanics. The southern boundary is also still open.
Drilling Delayed Until Early 2027
The next meaningful test will come from drilling rather than more surface assays. Golden Mile is progressing permitting and contractor arrangements for its inaugural drill programme, which is now likely to begin in early first quarter calendar 2027 after taking longer than expected to secure approvals and drilling contractors.
That timetable matters because the current evidence has clear limits. The programme used outcrop and in-situ scree, was not systematic, and the company reports only samples above 0.25g/t in its assay table. No drilling has established continuity at depth, the true widths of mineralisation remain unknown, and the announcement notes that no field blanks or standards were used, although the laboratory included its own in-house standards. Aurora is therefore an expanding surface target, not yet a mineral resource or a demonstrated economic discovery.
