Livium says lithium-ion battery collections in the first two months of FY27 have already surpassed every quarter of FY26, led by 77 tonnes received under its Sell & Parker agreement. The company is also moving towards due diligence with a potential multinational partner for VSPC, while extending its A$0.0082-per-share SPP.
- Q1 FY27 LIB volumes exceed every FY26 quarter after July and August collections
- Sell & Parker contributes 77 tonnes across the first two months
- Solreborn mobile solar recycling trial targeted for Australia in Q1 2027
- Potential VSPC partner advances towards due diligence, but discussions remain non-binding
- SPP applications exceed A$707,000 ahead of the 11 September closing date
Battery collections move above FY26 quarterly peak
Livium Ltd (ASX:LIT) has opened FY27 with its strongest reported lithium-ion battery collection run to date, saying volumes received in July and August already exceeded the total recorded in any quarter of FY26. The comparison is volume-based rather than financial: the announcement does not provide the corresponding quarterly tonnage or revenue figures.
The uplift includes 77 tonnes received under the Sell & Parker agreement across the first two months of the quarter. Sell & Parker supplied 54 tonnes in July against previously flagged expectations of 55 tonnes, followed by another 23 tonnes in August, with Livium anticipating further increased receipts in September.
Other material received at Envirostream’s Derrimut hub came from BYD, CATL, LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Glovis. Livium says the spread of suppliers reflects continued diversification of its customer base, although chief executive Simon Linge cautioned that battery recycling remains a nascent industry where volumes can be volatile.
Solar recycling trial targets early 2027
Livium is also progressing beyond batteries. Its work with Won Kwang S&T has advanced to a proposed Australian trial of Solreborn, the partner’s mobile solar-panel recycling technology, tentatively targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
Further end-of-life solar panels are being processed under a revenue-share arrangement linked to the materials recovered at Won Kwang’s smelter. Livium is separately continuing its collaboration with Iondrive (ASX:ION) under a binding term sheet signed last year, although the announcement provides no financial contribution from either solar-recycling initiative.
VSPC discussions reach due diligence stage
A large multinational industrial organisation has confirmed its interest in advancing to due diligence on a potential strategic alliance and investment in Livium’s VSPC business. The prospective partner is assessing VSPC’s Gen4 technology in the context of demand for high-quality, non-Chinese lithium iron phosphate cathode active material.
That is a meaningful step in the process, but not a transaction. Livium says the parties are still defining the scope of the proposed alliance, and stresses that no binding agreement has been signed. Any deal would remain subject to due diligence, negotiations, definitive documents and required approvals.
SPP extended as applications pass A$707,000
Livium has extended the closing date of its Share Purchase Plan to 5:00pm AEST on 11 September, giving eligible shareholders more time to apply for shares at A$0.0082 each. Applications had exceeded A$707,000 as at 8 September, while the board had collectively applied for A$80,000.
The SPP results and share issue are scheduled for 18 September, subject to change. The immediate operating test is whether September receipts sustain the July-August momentum; the larger strategic test is whether VSPC’s prospective partner progresses from interest and due diligence to a binding arrangement.
Bottom Line?
The volume signal is encouraging, but September collections and the uncertain VSPC process will determine whether early FY27 momentum becomes a durable step-up.
Questions in the middle?
- Will September Sell & Parker receipts maintain the pace established in July and August?
- Can VSPC convert the prospective partner’s due diligence into a binding alliance or investment?
- What level of funding will the SPP ultimately deliver when applications close on 11 September?
