Ore Resources Finds More Lithium Beyond Kangaroo Hills Resource

Ore Resources Ltd (ASX:OR3) has pushed lithium mineralisation beyond the current Mineral Resource Estimate boundaries at its Kangaroo Hills project, producing some of its strongest exploration results from the Big Red and Potoroo pegmatite systems. The company says the mineralisation remains open to the north and west, leaving room for further resource growth, although the latest results are exploration intercepts rather than a new resource estimate.

Big Red and Potoroo Extend Beyond Current Resource

The July and August reverse circulation programme covered 26 holes and approximately 3,300 metres across Kangaroo Hills and the Miriam Lithium Project. At Potoroo, hole KHRC219 returned 15 metres at 1.14% Li2O from 68 metres, including 6 metres at 1.60%, while KHRC220 returned 6 metres at 1.00% from 59 metres.

Big Red delivered a 15-metre intercept at 1.00% Li2O from 142 metres in KHRC225, including 3 metres at 1.82%. KHRC224 returned 18 metres at 0.83% from 147 metres, including 10 metres at 1.04%. Ore said these results were outside the existing MRE boundary and showed grades and thickness consistent with the current resource model.

The company’s Managing Director and CEO, Nick Rathjen, said the drilling had increased confidence in the geological model by demonstrating continuity, grade and thickness. That confidence remains to be tested through further drilling, resource estimation and any subsequent classification upgrades. The reported intervals are downhole lengths, so their true widths are not fully established in the announcement.

Big Red West Adds a New Exploration Target

At Big Red West, drill hole KHRC227 intersected a 44-metre-thick pegmatite system. Within that interval, assays returned 2 metres at 1.12% Li2O and 1 metre at 1.48%. The company believes the pegmatite may be thickening towards the east and remains open, but the target is still at an early exploration stage rather than part of the defined resource.

The results were less encouraging elsewhere in the programme. Drilling at Western Grey and Miriam did not return significant lithium intercepts. At Miriam, only one of 13 identified pegmatite targets has been tested, leaving 12 targets for possible systematic follow-up rather than providing evidence of an established resource.

Kangaroo Hills Moves Towards Development Decisions

Ore is using the drilling results to support a potential expansion of its Kangaroo Hills Direct Shipping Ore strategy, including possible resource growth, classification upgrades and mine-life extensions beyond the assumptions in its recent DSO study. The company is also progressing discussions with strategic parties, including potential offtake and project funding arrangements, while advancing mining licence applications and environmental approval work.

A Final Investment Decision is targeted for mid-2027, but the company expressly makes that timing conditional on the required approvals and project funding. Ore reported A$6.8 million in cash and no debt at 30 June 2026. Drilling is due to recommence in early October across the Coolgardie Gold Projects, targeting the Forrest and Burbanks Monarch prospects with RC drilling and testing Avoca with air core.
