Unity Metals Finds New Gold Targets Across O’Phlay’s Magnetic Corridor

Unity Metals has identified a series of demagnetised zones across more than 6km at its O’Phlay project in Cambodia, using drill-core data to refine targets for additional gold mineralisation. The company plans at least 22 holes across several prospects from early October.

Magnetic Data Expands the O’Phlay Target Pipeline

Unity Metals Limited (ASX:UM1) has turned a geological signature beneath its Camp discovery into a broader exploration map, identifying more than 6km of NE-ENE trending magnetic anomalies across the northern end of a major diorite intrusion at the O’Phlay Gold Project in Cambodia. Within those anomalies sit multiple magnetic lows interpreted as demagnetised zones, several of them coinciding with historical mine workings.

The significance of the interpretation rests on the Camp drilling. The broad gold-bearing stockwork zone is associated with a distinct demagnetised zone inside a larger magnetic high, which Unity says likely reflects hydrothermal alteration and the destruction of magnetite during emplacement of the mineralisation. Magnetic susceptibility in altered and mineralised diorite averaged 0.67 x 10-3 SI units, compared with 26 x 10-3 SI units in nearby unaltered and unmineralised core.

Camp Discovery Remains Open

Camp continues to provide the strongest modern drilling evidence at O’Phlay. Results reported by Unity include 70.4 metres at 1.1 grams per tonne gold from 195 metres, including 15.4 metres at 1.8 grams per tonne, and 40 metres at 1.9 grams per tonne from 82 metres, including 5 metres at 10.5 grams per tonne.

The interpreted mineralised zone extends from surface to at least 230 metres depth, with an estimated true width of about 45 to 50 metres. It dips steeply to the southeast, continues at depth and remains open there, while the zone also appears to strike NE-ENE and remains open laterally, although Unity says it may narrow towards the southwest.

Historical Workings Shape the Next Drill Campaign

Unity plans five holes at Toulsroloav, about 800 metres west-northwest of Camp, where the largest historical open pits at O’Phlay sit above an interpreted ENE-trending demagnetised zone. Earlier sampling returned rock-chip results of up to 28.5 g/t and 21.1 g/t gold, alongside strong gold and arsenic-in-soil anomalism.

A further five holes are planned at Small Creek, 1.8 kilometres southwest of Camp, beneath historical underground workings and open pits. Those workings focused on high-grade, arsenopyrite-rich gold veins, with Unity reporting rock-chip results of up to 37.1 g/t, 27.5 g/t and 24.3 g/t gold. The planned holes are intended to test both the veins and surrounding stockwork mineralisation.

Assays and Drilling Provide the Near-Term Test

The initial Small Creek and Toulsroloav drilling is planned for early in the fourth quarter of 2026, alongside infill soil sampling and trenching across the interpreted demagnetised zones. Unity has also planned two holes about 200 metres south-southwest of Camp, where a roughly 300-metre NE-trending demagnetised zone coincides with gold-in-soil results of up to 380 parts per billion.

Another 10 holes are planned across O’Phlay to test extensions of the Camp discovery and additional magnetic and geochemical targets. The immediate sequence of catalysts is tighter: trenching results from the Ngot and O’Phlay projects are expected next week, assays from Camp holes 26DDCM006 and 26DDCM007 are expected in mid-to-late September, and diamond drilling is scheduled to resume in early October. The magnetic lows remain interpreted targets rather than confirmed deposits, and Unity states that current drill spacing is insufficient for a mineral resource estimate. Future mining would also require further government approvals because the Cambodian licences lie wholly or partly within protected areas.

Bottom Line?

The next test is whether the Camp magnetic signature repeats at Toulsroloav, Small Creek and the additional southern target when drilling and assays move beyond interpretation.
