Westar Sharpens Jerrys Bore Gold Story with Three Drill Targets
Westar Resources has identified three high-priority gold targets at its Jerrys Bore project after analysing 1,167 UltraFine+ soil samples. The anomalies coincide with gold pathfinder elements and interpreted structures, but drilling is still needed to establish whether buried mineralisation exists.

Three gold targets emerge from Jerrys Bore sampling
Westar Resources Limited (ASX:WSR) has found three high-priority gold targets beneath the sparse cover at its Jerrys Bore project, about 165 kilometres north of Laverton in Western Australia. The results came from 1,167 auger samples collected at depths of between 1 and 3 metres and analysed using LabWest’s UltraFine+ method.
The targets are not drill discoveries. They are geochemical signals: areas where gold anomalism coincides with at least three pathfinder elements associated with Archean orogenic gold systems. A fourth area, T4, carries elevated arsenic, bismuth and tellurium but no gold anomalism, leaving it as a secondary target rather than part of the company’s main three-target group.
Pathfinder elements reinforce the structural interpretation
Targets T1 to T3 sit within or near interpreted greenstone rocks and fault structures identified from aeromagnetic data. At T1 in the north, low-level gold is associated with a NNW-trending fault over roughly 2 kilometres, alongside elevated arsenic, bismuth, molybdenum, antimony and tellurium.
In the southern sampling area, T2 follows a roughly NNE trend for more than 2 kilometres, with coincident gold, arsenic, molybdenum, antimony and tellurium. T3 also extends for more than 2 kilometres and is associated with a curvilinear fault zone interpreted as a splay from the De La Poer Fault system. Westar says several anomalous zones remain open towards the south of the tenement.
The geochemical response is affected by a near east-west paleochannel crossing the southern part of the project. Values for several pathfinder elements fall sharply at the paleochannel’s edge, suggesting the company believes parts of T2 may continue beneath the cover. That interpretation remains a target-generation hypothesis until tested below the surface.
Aircore drilling is the next test
Westar says aircore drilling may be undertaken across several anomalous areas to test for buried mineralised structures. That work would provide the first meaningful test of most of E38/4032, a 67-block exploration licence covering more than 20 kilometres along and adjacent to the De La Poer Fault. Apart from some RAB and aircore holes in the far north, the project has not been extensively drilled.
The results also carry important limits. Gold duplicate results were materially less reproducible than most other elements, with four sample pairs recording half absolute relative deviations above 100%. Westar says the pairs do not materially affect its target interpretation, but the sampling program does not establish grades, widths, continuity or a mineral resource. Any investment case now turns on whether aircore holes can convert these surface geochemical patterns into bedrock mineralisation.
Tenement access remains part of the exploration equation
E38/4032 was granted to Westar in April 2026 and is wholly owned by the company, but it is covered by Native Title Claim WC2018/012 of the Waturta People. Discussions over a heritage protection agreement are ongoing. The timing of follow-up drilling will therefore depend not only on the targets themselves, but also on the practical progress required before field work can proceed.
Bottom Line?
The soil results have sharpened Jerrys Bore into a drill-ready exploration story, but the decisive evidence will come from aircore holes rather than the surface anomalies.
