  • Stuart Fogarty to become Non-Executive Director on 30 October 2026
  • Search begins for a new executive to lead exploration and growth
  • Board expects no material impact on current exploration programs
  • Fogarty says Duketon has significant cash and listed investments
  • Barlee Gold Project identified as a key focus for the next phase

Fogarty Moves Out of Executive Leadership

Duketon Mining Limited (ASX:DKM) is preparing for a change at the top, with Managing Director and CEO Stuart Fogarty set to transition into a Non-Executive Director role on 30 October 2026. The company has started searching for a new executive to lead its next phase of exploration and growth.

The move is not a full departure. Fogarty will remain on the Board, preserving his corporate and project knowledge as Duketon works through the succession process. He said he was “not stepping away from the Company”, but taking a step back from an executive capacity while continuing to contribute at Board level.

Exploration Expected to Continue During Search

Duketon said its exploration programs will continue throughout the leadership transition and that the Board does not anticipate any material impact on current activities. The statement places particular emphasis on the Barlee Gold Project, north of Southern Cross, which Chair Seamus Cornelius described as entering an important phase of development.

Fogarty characterised Duketon’s portfolio as a large and highly prospective, albeit early-stage, gold exploration project. He also pointed to significant cash and listed investments on hand, although the announcement did not provide values for either. That leaves the incoming executive with a platform to manage, rather than a defined production business to operate.

Incoming Executive Will Set the Next Direction

The central question now shifts to the type of executive Duketon appoints and how that person approaches the company’s exploration portfolio. Cornelius said the Board would seek someone with the experience and leadership capability to guide the company through its next phase of growth, but no successor or search timetable has been announced.

Fogarty’s continued Board role offers a measure of continuity, while the change also introduces an unresolved leadership variable at a company whose projects remain in the exploration stage. The next meaningful signal will be whether Duketon can appoint a successor before the October transition and maintain momentum at Barlee without altering the exploration plans outlined in this announcement.

Bottom Line?

Fogarty’s continued Board involvement limits the break with the past, but the incoming executive will still shape how Duketon converts an early-stage exploration platform into its next phase of growth.

Questions in the middle?

  • Who will Duketon appoint to lead the company’s next exploration phase?
  • Will the incoming executive maintain the current focus and pace at Barlee?
  • How will the company’s cash and listed investments support future exploration decisions?
