Infinity Mining Finds Second Gold Target Near Expanding Tanjil Dome System

Infinity Mining has extended the gold anomaly at its Tanjil Dome project in Victoria to about 1km and identified a separate 1.5km anomalous trend at Good Hope. Surface samples returned up to 3.70 g/t gold at Tanjil Dome and 12.91 g/t from a Good Hope mullock sample, with trenching and drilling now planned.

Infinity Mining Limited (ASX:IMI) has doubled the interpreted gold footprint at its Victorian Tanjil Dome project to about 1km, while a second prospect 3km away has produced a 1.5km anomalous trend and a 12.91 g/t gold surface result. The results broaden the exploration story, but the evidence remains firmly at the surface-sampling stage.

Tanjil Dome Gold Anomaly Reaches 1km

New soil sampling shows anomalous gold extending across approximately 1km at Tanjil Dome, around 100km from Southern Cross Gold’s Sunday Creek project. The gold distribution broadly corresponds with the previously defined antimony-arsenic anomaly, which recorded peak values of 751 parts per million antimony and 791 parts per million arsenic across an initial 500m footprint.

That overlap is the central geological point in the announcement. The gold responses sit within the same broader area as massive stibnite veins, quartz-stibnite veining, mineralised breccias, altered intrusive rocks and gold-bearing quartz veins. Previous surface work included samples grading up to 48.7% antimony and 1.35 g/t gold, while the latest rock sampling added a 3.70 g/t gold result from float quartz breccia.

Good Hope Adds a Separate Gold Target

Good Hope, about 3km east of Tanjil Dome, is now the second major target in the project area. Systematic surface sampling has traced anomalous geochemistry for at least 1.5km along a trend associated with historical hard-rock workings. A shaft mullock sample returned 12.91 g/t gold, alongside another sample from the same area grading 0.41 g/t.

Infinity and its joint-venture partner Mining One Consultants describe Good Hope as a high-priority standalone target, combining high-grade gold at surface, historical workings and limited modern exploration. That description should not be confused with a defined mineralised body: the announcement states that continuity has not yet been demonstrated, and the samples include grab and mullock material rather than drill intersections or established widths.

Trenching Comes Before Initial Drilling

The immediate test will be trench mapping and sampling at both prospects, planned to begin by October 2026 under an approved program of works. The company says trench results will help establish vein orientations and continuity before initial drilling programs are designed. Further soil lines, baseline environmental sampling and development of an initial Exploration Target at Tanjil Dome are also planned.

No drilling has been completed, and the sampling density is not sufficient for Mineral Resource estimation. The soil gold results used a partial aqua-regia digestion, while the company says its standards, blanks and field duplicates were acceptable for early-stage exploration. Infinity has separately received $171,000 from the sale of EG1-ASX shares, providing a modest cash inflow unrelated to the exploration results.

Bottom Line?

The story now has two sizeable surface anomalies, but trenching and drilling must establish whether the striking grades connect into continuous mineralisation.
