Kalamazoo Resources has expanded its wholly owned Mt Piper exploration footprint in Central Victoria to 1,574 square kilometres, securing continuous coverage over a 15km structural corridor. Early drilling has confirmed gold-antimony anomalism at Whiteheads Hill, but the results remain reconnaissance-stage and sub-economic.

Mt Piper Footprint Reaches 1,574km²
Kalamazoo Resources Limited (ASX:KZR) has turned Mt Piper into a sizeable Central Victorian exploration platform, with 1,179 square kilometres of granted tenure and a further 395 square kilometres under application. The expanded position gives the company a 100%-controlled search area less than 100km from central Melbourne and close to established gold-antimony systems including Fosterville, Costerfield, Nagambie and Sunday Creek.
The most consequential addition is the newly granted Seymour and Hughes Creek tenure, which gives Kalamazoo continuous coverage over an interpreted 15km structural corridor running through the Whiteheads Hill prospect. That land position does not amount to a discovery, but it allows the company to examine the interpreted structure as a single exploration trend rather than as a collection of isolated targets.
Whiteheads Hill Produces Early Antimony Signal
A 15-hole, 328-metre aircore program at Whiteheads Hill returned a peak result of 155 parts per million antimony and 68 parts per billion gold. The drilling also identified a three-metre zone above 100ppm antimony within a broader interval of about 40 metres above 50ppm.
Kalamazoo describes the results as sub-economic and early-stage. Their significance, according to the company, is that they confirm in-situ gold-antimony anomalism associated with a west-dipping structure along a faulted contact between the Norton Gully Sandstone and Monty’s Hut Formation. The drilling was reconnaissance work, using three-metre composite samples, so the next test is whether follow-up drilling can establish meaningful grade, width and continuity along the wider corridor.
Cunninghams and Kurkuruk Add Target Depth
Whiteheads Hill is not Mt Piper’s only early target. At Cunninghams, a regional soil traverse produced responses of up to 27ppm antimony and 45ppb gold, extending from known mineralisation towards historic alluvial workings. Historical hard-rock samples cited in the announcement reached 21 grams per tonne gold and more than 1% antimony, although those older results are not equivalent to a modern resource estimate.
At Kurkuruk, reconnaissance rock-chip sampling outlined mineralisation over at least 670 metres of strike, with peak assays of 3.2g/t gold, 1,428ppm antimony and 1,949ppm arsenic. The prospect contains historic shafts and was last operated in the early 1940s. Kalamazoo plans further soil work there to refine the target and inform drill design.
Target Generation Comes Before More Drilling
The next phase is deliberately broad: hyperspectral imagery, high-resolution airborne gravity gradiometry, geochemistry, mapping and structural interpretation will be combined to rank targets for staged drill testing. That approach reflects the size of the land package and the limited maturity of the current evidence.
Mt Piper sits alongside Kalamazoo’s primary development focus at Ashburton, but the company has not reported a resource or an economic discovery from this project. Results from drilling at Tarnagulla and Smiths Reef in the South Muckleford area are expected in the next quarter, while at Mt Piper the sharper question is whether the 15km corridor can move from encouraging geochemical evidence to coherent mineralised zones in the drill bit.

The tenure now offers scale, but Whiteheads Hill must still convert low-level anomalism into repeatable grade, width and continuity before Mt Piper can support a stronger discovery case.
