AT4 turns Arizona antimony into Nevada ingot in first US mine-to-metal test
American Tungsten & Antimony has produced antimony ingot from Arizona-mined material at its Nevada refinery, providing the first physical demonstration of its proposed US mine-to-metal chain. The milestone creates samples for testing and customer qualification, but the underlying asset acquisition remains incomplete and product quality is yet to be disclosed.

American Tungsten & Antimony Limited (ASX:AT4) has made antimony ingot from material mined in Arizona and processed in Nevada, giving the company its first physical demonstration of the domestic mine-to-metal chain it is seeking to build. The ingot was produced at the Del Sol Hydromet Refinery from material sourced from the White Spar Antimony Mine.
Arizona Ore Reaches Nevada Ingot Stage
The result arrived during a restart campaign that began on 16 September, with Del Sol’s leach and electrowinning circuit returned to operation ahead of schedule. Antimony flake derived from White Spar was then processed through the refinery’s existing melters, using the facility’s current configuration and permitted feed envelope.
That sequence matters because the company is pitching an integrated US supply chain rather than a standalone mine or processing project. AT4 says the campaign required no new processing infrastructure or permitting for the current work, while the physical product now gives prospective customers and government agencies material they can independently assess.
Qualification Starts With Unverified Material
The ingot is an intermediary product that can feed downstream materials including antimony trisulphide and sodium antimonate. AT4 plans to provide samples to prospective offtakers, US defence primes, industrial counterparties and government agencies as it advances product qualification discussions.
There is, however, a sizeable gap between producing a sample and establishing a commercial product. Independent analytical testing is still under way, and AT4 has not reported the ingot’s grade, purity or metallurgical recovery. The announcement therefore confirms successful production, but not yet the quality, yield or economic performance that would underpin a supply arrangement.
Asset Acquisition Still Sits Between Milestone and Ownership
The operational achievement also comes with an important legal qualification. AT4’s proposed acquisition of Nexus Metals, which holds the relevant rights to Del Sol and White Spar, has not completed. The transaction remains conditional on matters including shareholder approval, exercise of the Del Sol option and regulatory and third-party consents, and the company says there is no certainty it will complete.
AT4 is undertaking the restart work under arrangements with Nexus Metals before completion, but those arrangements do not give it a legal or beneficial interest in the assets. The next markers are consequently more specific than another headline production milestone: assay and recovery results, qualification responses, operating data from the restart campaign and evidence of a completed acquisition or binding customer or government arrangement.
Bottom Line?
The ingot proves the proposed processing route can produce a physical product, but its investment significance now depends on test results, qualification and whether AT4 ultimately secures the assets.
