Orthocell has recorded the first commercial sales of its Remplir nerve repair product in Thailand, opening a new market estimated at US$84 million. The launch gives the company another distributor-led growth channel, although near-term sales are expected to remain modest.
- First Remplir sales achieved in Thailand
- MediTime appointed exclusive local distributor
- Thai nerve repair market estimated at US$84 million
- Remplir now approved and generating revenue across seven markets
- A$44.1 million available funds and no debt at 30 June 2026
First Thai Remplir Sales Begin
Orthocell Limited (ASX:OCC) has converted Thai regulatory approval into its first commercial sales of Remplir, adding another revenue-generating market for its peripheral nerve repair product. The Thai nerve repair market is estimated by the company at US$84 million, but Orthocell cautioned that sales volumes are likely to be modest in the near term.
The launch follows the appointment of MediTime as Remplir’s exclusive distributor in Thailand. The specialist orthopaedics and sports medicine distributor has coverage across leading hospitals, medical schools and regional centres, with existing relationships among orthopaedic and plastic surgeons - the core customer base for Remplir.
Distributor Network Carries the Launch
Orthocell is working with MediTime in Thailand this week on sales representative training, product education and surgeon engagement. The distributor’s model is built around clinical support and relationships with key opinion leaders, which the company says should support both initial adoption and longer-term market development.
Paul Anderson, managing director of Orthocell (ASX:OCC), said the first sales reflected the product, its supporting clinical data and the partnership with MediTime. He added that the immediate focus was on engaging surgeons and establishing accounts at key centres, rather than chasing rapid volume.
Seven Markets Now Generating Revenue
Remplir is now approved for sale and generating revenue in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand. Orthocell is also targeting the US$750 million European Union and United Kingdom market, with regulatory approval expected in the second half of calendar 2026, according to the announcement.
Thailand’s healthcare system and medical tourism sector make it strategically relevant to Orthocell’s Asian expansion plans, although the filing does not disclose the value of the initial sales, pricing, customer numbers or a forecast for Thai revenue. That leaves the commercial significance of the milestone dependent on how quickly MediTime can convert hospital access and surgeon education into recurring procedures.
Cash Position Supports Further Expansion
Orthocell reported A$44.1 million in available funds and no debt as at 30 June 2026. That balance gives the company financial capacity to continue its distributor-led rollout while it develops additional markets, but the announcement does not specify how much capital will be allocated to the Thai launch or how quickly it expects the market to contribute materially to group results.
Bottom Line?
Thailand is a credible new foothold, but the next meaningful signal will be hospital account growth and repeat Remplir demand rather than the first sale itself.
Questions in the middle?
- How quickly will MediTime establish Remplir across Thailand’s leading hospitals?
- When will Thai sales become material enough to influence Orthocell’s reported revenue?
- Will European Union and United Kingdom approval arrive in the expected second half of calendar 2026?
