Eminence Opens New Rare Earths Front at Tayra

Tayra Field Campaign Begins

Eminence Minerals Limited (ASX:EMA) has moved Tayra from desktop targeting into fieldwork, beginning geological reconnaissance and detailed mapping across three pending exploration licence applications in Bahia’s Itarantim-Maiquinique region. The campaign will also include systematic channel sampling and targeted rock sampling of rocks interpreted as potential alkaline source lithologies.

The immediate objective is not resource definition but better geological resolution. Eminence intends to build a dataset covering Tayra’s geology, regolith profile, structural setting and geochemistry, then assess whether the ground is consistent with an ion-adsorption clay, or IAC-style, rare earths model. Results will be compiled into a technical assessment after sampling and analytical work are completed and validated.

Adjacent IMC Ground Offers No Shortcut

Parts of the Tayra application areas sit directly beside tenure associated with IMC Rare Earths’ Itarantim Rare Earths Project. That proximity provides a regional exploration reference point, but Eminence’s release is explicit that IMC’s ground is not part of Tayra and that mineralisation on neighbouring properties is not evidence of mineralisation, comparable grades or economic potential within Eminence’s applications.

There is also a more immediate administrative risk: the three applications have been lodged with Brazil’s National Mining Agency, but none is guaranteed to be granted. The company says tenure remains subject to final ANM confirmation. Surface work before grant is subject to Brazilian requirements and landowner consent, adding a practical constraint to what can be done and when.

Campo Grande Drilling Runs in Parallel

While the Tayra team maps and samples at surface, mechanised auger drilling is advancing at Campo Grande’s North-East Target. Approximately 70 holes are planned to test the interpreted potential continuation of the Amargosa Bauxite-Gallium trend into Eminence’s tenure.

The drilling is intended to generate subsurface geological and geochemical information on the presence, distribution and controls of any mineralisation at the target. Individual hole locations remain subject to landowner access and field conditions, with results to be assessed as analytical data become available, validated and interpreted.

Results Will Determine the Next Spend

Tayra is still firmly an exploration proposition: Eminence has defined no Mineral Resource, and the release reports no confirmed mineralisation, grades or economic assessment. If the field program identifies meaningful rare earth anomalism and a coherent relationship between source rocks and weathered regolith, the company says it may consider more systematic surface sampling, detailed targeting and, where technically justified, follow-up drilling.

For now, the investment story rests on data still to come from two different workstreams. ANM decisions will determine how secure the Tayra ground is, while validated sampling and auger results will determine whether either project can move beyond geological promise.
