ASX Extends MXT Trading Suspension

Metrics Master Income Trust (ASX:MXT) remains suspended from quotation because its audited financial statements have not been lodged, leaving investors without a confirmed point at which trading can resume.

MXT initially requested the suspension under ASX Listing Rule 17.2 on 28 September 2026. ASX Supervision has now continued the suspension under Listing Rule 17.5, which applies where a listed entity has not lodged required financial reports.

Reinstatement Depends on Accounts and ASX Approval

The suspension will remain in place until MXT lodges its audited financial statements and ASX considers it otherwise appropriate to reinstate the securities to quotation. The announcement gives no deadline for the filing and does not indicate when reinstatement might occur.

That leaves the immediate issue unresolved for unitholders: the trust’s securities remain unavailable for ordinary on-market trading, while the market has no fresh audited report to assess. ASX’s notice also does not explain why the statements have not been lodged.

Audited Report Becomes the Key Catalyst

The next material step is the financial statements themselves, rather than a routine timetable update. Once lodged, they will give investors the information needed to assess the trust’s reported financial position and any matters raised by the audit process, while ASX will separately determine whether quotation should resume.

Bottom Line?

MXT’s suspension now has no stated timetable; the audited accounts and ASX’s reinstatement decision are the two milestones that matter next.

Questions in the middle?

  • When will MXT lodge its audited financial statements?
  • Why have the statements not yet been lodged?
  • Will ASX consider the securities suitable for reinstatement once the accounts arrive?
