BMC Finds More High-Grade Polymetallic Mineralisation Near ABM
BMC Minerals has intersected significant silver, zinc, gold, copper and lead mineralisation in all nine reported holes at the Rhyolite Peak prospect, 1.2km from its proposed ABM mine. Six further assays are pending as the company moves toward completing its 20,000m 2026 drilling program.
- Nine reported Rhyolite Peak holes all returned significant mineralisation
- Best result: 4.0m at 264g/t silver, 9.0% zinc, 2.9g/t gold, 0.6% copper and 4.3% lead
- Mineralised zone remains open along strike and down dip
- Approximately 18,000m of planned 20,000m drilling completed
- Six additional Rhyolite Peak assays expected by mid-October

Rhyolite Peak Delivers Nine Straight Mineralised Holes
BMC Minerals Ltd (ASX:BMC) has extended a shallow, high-grade polymetallic zone at Rhyolite Peak in Yukon, with all nine reported 2026 diamond holes returning significant mineralised intervals. The strongest headline intersection was 4.0m at 264g/t silver, 9.0% zinc, 2.9g/t gold, 0.6% copper and 4.3% lead from 56.7m in hole K26-602.
Two other holes underline the consistency of the result. K26-597 returned 7.4m at 179g/t silver, 6.9% zinc, 1.1g/t gold, 0.6% copper and 1.2% lead from 30m, while K26-598 intersected 5.2m at 233g/t silver, 9.0% zinc, 1.7g/t gold, 0.4% copper and 2.6% lead from 57.7m. The latter included 3.4m grading 331g/t silver, 12.5% zinc, 2.5g/t gold, 0.5% copper and 3.7% lead.
A Near-Mine Zone Still Open in Two Directions
Rhyolite Peak sits about 1,200m west of, and directly along strike from, the ABM Deposit within BMC's 100%-owned Kudz Ze Kayah Project. BMC interprets the mineralisation as a north-dipping massive sulfide zone on the same mineralised horizon as ABM, with reported true widths ranging from roughly 2.3m to 7.2m. The company says the zone remains open both along strike and down dip.
That proximity gives the drilling a potentially important strategic angle, although the release does not report a new mineral resource, ore reserve or economic assessment for Rhyolite Peak. The 2026 holes were drilled on a close-spaced grid of approximately 25m to 50m to step out systematically from earlier mineralisation identified in 2018 and 2024.
Six Assays Pending as Property-Wide Drilling Nears Completion
BMC has completed 15 Rhyolite Peak holes to target depth, with assay results from the remaining six expected by mid-October. Drilling at the prospect is temporarily paused until October 20 under the conditions of the company's exploration licence, leaving the pending assays as the next immediate test of continuity.
Across the wider Kudz Ze Kayah property, around 18,000m of the planned 20,000m 2026 drilling campaign is complete. A separate GP4F hole extended mineralisation about 50m west, but BMC described the result as modest and said other reported holes in that area returned no significant results. The company has also completed 2,482 line-kilometres of drone magnetic surveying and expanded ground-gravity coverage across prospective stratigraphy, building a broader pipeline of future targets rather than relying solely on the current drilling hits.
The immediate question is whether the six pending holes preserve the apparent thickness and grade across the open extensions. Until that continuity is established and the zone is incorporated into a formal geological model, Rhyolite Peak remains an encouraging exploration discovery close to ABM, not yet an addition to the project's mine inventory.
Bottom Line?
The drilling has strengthened Rhyolite Peak as a near-mine exploration target, but the pending assays and future resource work will determine whether it becomes more than a promising mineralised zone.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the six pending assays extend the mineralised zone along strike or down dip?
- Can BMC demonstrate sufficient geological and grade continuity to support a maiden resource at Rhyolite Peak?
- How might any future Rhyolite Peak resource interact with the proposed ABM mine and processing plans?
