White Cliff finds deeper copper continuity at Danvers 1

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

White Cliff Minerals has reported a 76.5-metre copper-silver intercept at Danvers 1, including a 4-metre zone grading 11.19% copper. Three deeper holes also intersected visible copper sulphides, but their grades remain unconfirmed pending assays.

  • 76.5m at 2.01% copper and 5.72g/t silver from 49.5m
  • High-grade sub-intervals of 16m at 5.07% copper and 4m at 11.19%
  • Visible sulphides in three deeper holes extend the interpreted envelope to 240m vertical depth
  • Further drilling continues across Danvers 1, Danvers 2 and Danvers 3
  • Exploration Target and maiden Mineral Resource Estimate remain future milestones

Danvers 1 fills a key high-grade gap

White Cliff Minerals Limited (ASX:WCN) has filled a 200-metre gap at Danvers 1 with a 76.5-metre copper-silver intercept grading 2.01% copper and 5.72 grams per tonne silver from 49.5 metres. The result includes 16 metres at 5.07% copper and a sharper 4-metre interval at 11.19% copper from 84 metres.

The hole, DAN26047, sits between two previously reported intersections and supports White Cliff’s interpretation of a shallow, southwest-plunging high-grade trend within the broader Danvers 1 system. The company says the result provides a clearer guide for targeting higher-grade zones, although the intervals are downhole lengths and true widths have not yet been established.

Deeper drilling pushes beyond the historical model

The more consequential geological development may sit below the headline assay. Holes DAN26048, DAN26049 and DAN26050 all intersected visible copper sulphides beneath areas where historical drilling had narrowed or closed off the mineralised envelope. DAN26048 logged 63.21 metres of copper sulphides, DAN26049 logged 27.05 metres and DAN26050 logged 65.27 metres, with the latter extending visible sulphides to approximately 240 metres vertically below surface.

Those figures are geological observations, not laboratory grades. White Cliff says assays for the three holes are expected in six to eight weeks, meaning the depth extension currently demonstrates continuity of sulphide mineralisation rather than a quantified economic interval. The distinction matters in a project where the company is still working towards an Exploration Target and maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.

The Danvers footprint remains open along strike

White Cliff’s drilling campaign is now pursuing both definition and scale. Drilling continues northeast of Danvers 1, where some initial holes were more than 650 metres apart, as well as at Danvers 2 and Danvers 3. The company’s latest work sits alongside the 11.5km Danvers district footprint previously reported across the broader Teshierpi Fault Zone.

Regional work is also expanding. An airborne magnetic, gravity and radiometric survey has been commissioned across the Rae Group-Husky Creek Formation contact over roughly 70 kilometres of strike, including the Thor and Rocket targets. Till sampling is planned across those areas, while parallel structures northeast of Danvers 1 are being considered for further diamond drilling.

Assays will determine whether depth adds substance

The immediate test is whether the deeper sulphides carry grades comparable with the established Danvers 1 core. Until those assays arrive, the strongest hard result is the infill intercept from DAN26047, which reinforces grade continuity but does not by itself define the geometry or scale of a resource. Continued drilling will need to reduce the wide spacing along strike, clarify true thicknesses and convert a visually compelling geological model into a JORC-compliant estimate.

Bottom Line?

The 11.19% copper sub-interval strengthens Danvers 1, but the next material re-rating question rests with assays from the deeper sulphide intersections.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will assays from DAN26048, DAN26049 and DAN26050 confirm economic copper grades at depth?
  • How much of the broader Danvers strike can be converted from widely spaced exploration evidence into confident continuity?
  • When will White Cliff publish the Exploration Target and maiden Mineral Resource Estimate promised by the current drilling program?
