Coles Places First FZZR Order

The Calmer Co International Limited (ASX:CCO) has reached a fresh retail milestone: Coles has placed its initial order for Fiji Kava FZZR Piña Colada, which the company describes as the first flavoured kava product to be ranged in Australian supermarkets.

The 10-pack is expected to begin rolling into 583 Coles stores from the week commencing 12 October, representing about 66% of the supermarket chain’s network. The product is listed as a complementary medicine on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and is regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

Existing Fiji Kava Range Gains Distribution

The FZZR order arrives alongside a wider expansion of Fiji Kava’s supermarket footprint. Coles now ranges the company’s 150g Root Powder in 837 stores, or 94% of its network, up from 815, while the 50g Noble Root Powder is available in 788 stores, or 89%, up from 761.

At Woolworths, the 50g product is ranged in 1,006 stores nationally, equivalent to about 90% of the network. The retail push was partly funded against the backdrop of the September rights issue, which raised $1.82 million before costs and was earmarked in part for inventory and Coles expansion.

September Sales Show Retail Momentum

Excluding FZZR, Fiji Kava sales in the September 2026 quarter rose 33% at Woolworths and 27% at Coles compared with the June quarter. Woolworths recorded its highest quarterly sales since national ranging began in June 2025, with September also its strongest month since launch.

The company said Coles scan data showed Fiji Kava 50g significantly outperforming its leading competitor and ranking first nationally in the supermarket’s Stress category by value sales. Those rankings are retailer scan-data measures, rather than disclosed financial results, and the announcement does not provide absolute sales, order volumes, wholesale pricing or the expected revenue contribution from FZZR.

The Next Test Is Sell-Through

Australian retail became The Calmer Co’s largest channel in the June 2026 quarter, contributing 45% of fourth-quarter FY26 revenue, while Australian Retail revenue increased 30% across FY26. The company says that momentum has continued into FY27, but the new product’s commercial weight will depend on what happens after the initial store rollout.

For investors, the immediate markers are straightforward: whether FZZR reaches the planned 583 stores, how quickly it sells through, and whether Coles follows with repeat orders. The initial listing establishes shelf access; it does not yet reveal the scale or profitability of the opportunity.

Bottom Line?

Coles has opened the door for FZZR across 583 stores, but repeat orders and disclosed sell-through will determine whether the launch becomes a meaningful revenue contributor.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the planned 12 October rollout reach all 583 Coles stores on schedule?
  • What unit volumes, sales value and margin contribution will FZZR generate once trading data becomes available?
  • Can the flavoured format attract new kava consumers without weakening demand for the existing powder range?
