Dalaroo Metals will drill five holes totalling about 1,250 metres around its high-grade Wilfred gold intercept in Côte d’Ivoire. The work is designed to establish whether the 18-metre zone at 7.31 g/t gold extends at depth and along strike, while new assays and a diamond rig add near-term exploration catalysts.
- Five-hole, approximately 1,250-metre follow-up program at Wilfred
- BDRC002 returned 18m at 7.31 g/t gold from 63m
- 80-metre step-outs planned north-west and south-east of BDRC002
- Easy Drill diamond rig expected to mobilise in mid to late October
- BDRC003 and BDRC004 assays expected in early November 2026
Five holes will test the high-grade Wilfred zone
Dalaroo Metals Limited (ASX:DAL) is moving quickly from discovery to definition at its Bondoukou Gold Ridge Project in Côte d’Ivoire, planning five follow-up holes around the Wilfred target after BDRC002 returned 18 metres at 7.31 g/t gold from 63 metres.
The approximately 1,250-metre program will test both depth and strike extensions of the mineralised zone. One 250-metre hole will be drilled from the existing BDRC002 collar at a steeper -70° dip, while two pairs of holes will be positioned about 80 metres north-west and south-east along strike, with each pair drilled at -60° and -70°.
The work builds on the maiden Bondoukou drilling campaign, which was launched to test a much larger gold-in-soil corridor. Dalaroo says the two-dip design should provide multiple pierce points and the first meaningful information on mineralisation orientation, true width and continuity.
Geometry remains the central question
BDRC002 also intersected a second zone of 16 metres at 1.46 g/t gold from 113 metres, while BDRC001 returned 23 metres at 2.14 g/t from surface. The high-grade BDRC002 interval is associated with strongly silicified volcaniclastic rock containing quartz-sulphide veining and pyrite.
Those results are encouraging, but the headline widths are downhole measurements. Dalaroo has not yet established the true width, geometry or continuity of the mineralisation, and the company cautions that planned drill locations, orientations and depths may change as geological information emerges. No new exploration results are reported in this announcement.
Diamond drilling and assays create the next catalysts
The initial 24-hole, approximately 4,200-metre orientation phase is continuing across Wilfred, Mag and Ali on day and night shifts. Nine RC holes totalling 1,750 metres had been completed by 3 October, with BDRC010 in progress.
An Easy Drill diamond rig is expected to mobilise in mid to late October, with additional rigs potentially available from late November. Dalaroo says diamond core will provide more structural information, require less clearing and improve control of drilling angles where RC drilling is not suitable.
Assays from BDRC003 and BDRC004 are expected in early November 2026, subject to laboratory turnaround and quality-control review. Those results will arrive before the follow-up program has established whether the strong BDRC002 intersection represents a continuous zone or a more localised feature.
Project interest depends on continuity
The Gold Ridge corridor sits within exploration permit PR-825, where Dalaroo may earn up to an 80% interest through its joint venture with Goldridge SARL. The corridor was defined by magnetic interpretation, artisanal workings, geological mapping, auger drilling and an approximately 7-kilometre soil anomaly with a peak assay of 23.26 g/t gold.
For now, the investment case remains an exploration proposition rather than a defined resource story. The five holes are aimed at answering the questions that matter most after an isolated high-grade intercept: how the zone is oriented, how wide it really is and whether it persists beyond the original fence.
Bottom Line?
The next assay batch may provide the first test of whether BDRC002 marks a coherent gold system or an attractive but limited intercept.
Questions in the middle?
- Will BDRC003 and BDRC004 extend the mineralisation identified at Wilfred?
- What true widths and structural controls will the deeper and step-out holes reveal?
- Can Dalaroo maintain the planned RC and diamond drilling pace across its three Bondoukou targets?
