Image Resources says it knows of no undisclosed information that could explain its share price more than doubling between 9 and 13 October. The response follows an ASX price query prompted by the move and a surge in trading volume.
- Share price moved from $0.017 to $0.035
- ASX queried the rise and increased trading volume
- Image Resources denied knowledge of undisclosed market-sensitive information
- Sands transaction discussions remain ongoing
- Updated Erayinia-King Mineral Resource estimate is not yet complete
ASX questions rapid share price and volume increase
Image Resources NL (ASX:IMA) has denied knowing of any undisclosed information behind a sharp move in its shares, after ASX Listings Compliance noted the price had risen from $0.017 on 9 October to $0.035 on 13 October. The exchange also pointed to a significant increase in trading volume on 12 October and the following day.
In its response, Image Resources said “no” when asked whether it was aware of market-sensitive information that had not been released. It also said it was not aware of any other reason for the recent trading and confirmed that it was complying with the ASX Listing Rules, including the continuous disclosure requirements of Listing Rule 3.1.
Sands transaction remains unresolved
The company drew attention to its 25 September announcement about a potential transaction involving sands projects. Discussions are still continuing, with the parties intending to enter legally binding documentation by 31 October 2026 or a later date agreed between them. Image Resources said there was no certainty that binding documents would be signed and that it was not aware of any new market-sensitive information concerning the proposal.
The transaction sits alongside the LB Group transaction talks, which had previously included a reported A$5 million advance while negotiations continued. That earlier announcement also described a broader potential deal involving interests in the Durack and Yandanooka projects, but the current ASX response does not add terms or change the status of those discussions.
Erayinia-King resource update is still pending
Image Resources also cited its 29 September drilling announcement for the Erayinia-King Gold Project. The new drilling data is being incorporated into an updated geological interpretation and Mineral Resource estimate, but that work has not been completed and the company said it currently has no updated estimate or indication of its likely outcome.
That leaves two obvious sources of market interest still unresolved rather than newly disclosed: a potential sands transaction and a future gold resource estimate. The ASX correspondence records the regulator’s scrutiny of the trading, but Image Resources’ response does not disclose a new deal, resource result or financial change. The next material signal will therefore come from whether either project produces a formal announcement before the market’s attention outruns the underlying information.
Bottom Line?
The price move has not been matched by a new disclosure, leaving the potential sands transaction and the Erayinia-King resource update as the key unresolved catalysts.
Questions in the middle?
- Will Image Resources sign binding documentation for the potential sands transaction by 31 October, or will the deadline be extended?
- When will the updated Erayinia-King geological interpretation and Mineral Resource estimate be completed?
- Will elevated trading activity continue if no new project announcement is made?
