Wonawinta reaches full gold processing capacity
Manuka Resources Limited (ASX:MKR) has moved its Wonawinta operation from restart mode into full gold processing capacity, with a second gold delivery now underway to the ABC refinery in Sydney. The shipment follows the company’s first gold revenue earlier this month and marks a further step in the return to precious metals production.
Wonawinta restarted gold processing on 22 August using gold-bearing material from Manuka’s 100%-owned Mt Boppy Gold Project. The company says the plant has progressively ramped up throughput, gold recovery and gold loading within the processing circuit. The earlier
Weekly sales planned as operations settle
With gold production now established, Manuka intends to move from an initial fortnightly sales cycle to weekly gold sales. That would provide more regular operating cash inflows, although the announcement does not disclose the quantity or value of the second delivery, production volumes, recovery rates or operating costs.
The company says gold production will remain the immediate focus through the rest of the year. It also intends to continue reporting gold sold and key plant operating metrics as the operation progresses, giving investors more data with which to judge whether the reported ramp-up is translating into consistent output and cash generation.
Silver circuit commissioning set for December
Manuka is preparing the next stage of the Wonawinta plan, with commissioning of the silver circuit scheduled to begin in December 2026. Following commissioning and ramp-up, the company expects the facility to transition to combined gold and silver processing around February 2027. The timing builds on the company’s
That transition remains a forward-looking target rather than an operating result. The immediate test is whether Wonawinta can maintain full gold processing capacity and establish the planned weekly sales rhythm before silver is added to the circuit. The next meaningful evidence will be the disclosed gold volumes, sale values and plant metrics, followed by progress through December’s commissioning work.
Bottom Line?
The restart has reached an important operating milestone, but the investment case now depends on sustained weekly gold sales and successful silver commissioning.
Questions in the middle?
- What gold volumes and sale values will Manuka report once weekly sales begin?
- Can Wonawinta maintain throughput and recovery performance through the remainder of 2026?
- Will the silver circuit commission and ramp up on the timetable targeted for early 2027?
