BPM’s Beachcomber drilling delivers its strongest gold result yet

BPM Minerals has completed 9,060 metres of a record Forelands drilling campaign, with post-quarter assays returning its best Beachcomber result to date. The company is now advancing maiden drilling at Bonnie & Clyde while working towards a maiden resource estimate targeted for the first half of 2027.

  • 18m at 4.93 g/t gold, including 1m at 38.23 g/t, at Beachcomber
  • 9,060m completed across 53 Beachcomber RC holes
  • Maiden 10,000m Bonnie & Clyde drilling program underway
  • A$5.3 million cash balance at 30 September
  • Maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate targeted for H1 2027

Beachcomber records its strongest intercept

BPM Minerals Limited (ASX:BPM) has put a high-grade marker into its largest exploration campaign yet, reporting an 18-metre intercept grading 4.93 grams per tonne gold at the Beachcomber Prospect in Western Australia. The result, from 245 metres in hole FLRC076, includes a 1-metre interval at 38.23 g/t gold and is the best drilling result BPM has reported at Beachcomber to date.

The assay arrived after the September quarter, but it provides the early headline for a program that had already completed 9,060 metres across 53 reverse circulation holes by quarter end. Other results from the first nine holes included 2m at 10.79 g/t gold, 2m at 7.21 g/t, 15m at 1.33 g/t and 6m at 1.44 g/t. Assays from the remaining 44 holes are expected progressively through the fourth quarter of 2026.

Record campaign moves toward a maiden resource

The Beachcomber work forms one half of BPM’s approximately 20,000m Forelands campaign, which was launched as the company’s largest exploration program. The roughly 10,000m Beachcomber component is designed to improve drill spacing and geological confidence across the Main, North-West, Central and Fault lodes ahead of a maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate. BPM is targeting that estimate for the first half of 2027.

That pathway remains conditional. BPM said no Mineral Resource has yet been estimated at Beachcomber, and there is no certainty the drilling will support one. The program’s results will also feed into the company’s assessment of the Forelands project and its decision on whether to exercise exclusive options to acquire the relevant tenements. The scale-up was outlined in the company’s 20,000m Forelands campaign, which was described earlier as its most consequential exploration phase.

Bonnie & Clyde receives its first drill test

At Bonnie & Clyde, BPM has moved from surface indicators to its first-ever drill holes. The approximately 10,000m program comprises 65 holes across 13 traverses and is testing four priority targets within a roughly 6km gold-in-soil anomaly along the Yellow Dam Shear Zone. Four holes had been completed when drilling paused briefly for weather, with the program expected to take about two months.

The targets were defined from roughly 1,500 ultrafine-fraction soil samples and a detailed airborne magnetic survey. Peak soil values reached 594 parts per billion gold at Clyde, 571ppb at Bonnie 3, 408ppb at Bonnie 1 and 235ppb at Bonnie 2. Those figures identify exploration targets, not discoveries or Mineral Resources, and the rock beneath them remains untested. The program follows the first Bonnie and Clyde drilling, which was reported as a test of the untested anomaly.

Cash supports the program, but option expiry adds a funding question

BPM held approximately A$5.3 million in cash at 30 September after spending about A$1.1 million on exploration during the quarter. Its Appendix 5B calculation showed quarterly relevant outgoings of A$1.385 million and estimated 3.82 quarters of funding on the cash balance alone. That is a snapshot rather than a forecast, particularly while the company is running two drilling workstreams and awaiting a substantial batch of assays.

Option exercises provided A$78,752 during the quarter, and a further 3,237,052 listed BPMOB options were exercised after quarter end for A$485,558. The remaining 21,650,886 options, exercisable at A$0.15, could raise approximately A$3.2 million if exercised before their 30 October expiry. Whether that additional capital arrives, and how quickly the exploration spend converts into a resource decision, are now the practical financial questions surrounding the drilling story.

Bottom Line?

The next decisive evidence will come from the remaining Beachcomber assays and the first results from Bonnie & Clyde, while BPM’s option expiry and tenement acquisition decision will shape how far the campaign can run.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the remaining 44 Beachcomber holes confirm continuity of the high-grade Main Lode and support a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate?
  • What grades and geological continuity will Bonnie & Clyde reveal beneath its large surface anomaly?
  • Will BPM exercise its Forelands acquisition options, and will option proceeds be sufficient for the next phase of work?
