Kaiser Reef unlocks Henty cash flow after repaying 1,872oz gold loan

Kaiser Reef has fully repaid its 1,872-ounce Auramet gold loan using cash generated by the Henty mine, removing a recurring delivery obligation worth about A$0.6 million a month at current gold prices. The company still owes Catalyst Metals 2,400 ounces through October 2030.

  • 1,872oz Auramet gold loan repaid over 18 monthly instalments
  • Final 104oz delivery completed in October 2026
  • Henty operating cash flow funded the repayment
  • About A$0.6 million a month in gold deliveries removed at current prices
  • A$40 million held in cash and bullion at 30 September

Auramet Gold Loan Fully Repaid

Kaiser Reef Limited (ASX:KAU) has finished repaying the 1,872-ounce senior secured gold loan that helped fund its acquisition of the Henty Gold Mine. The final 104 ounces were delivered to Auramet International in October, completing 18 monthly instalments on schedule.

The practical change is immediate: Kaiser no longer has to hand over roughly A$0.6 million of gold each month at current prices. That estimate will move with the gold price, but the removal of the delivery obligation leaves more of Henty’s production available to the company rather than committed to debt repayment.

Henty Cash Flow Funded the Repayment

Kaiser said the loan was repaid entirely from Henty operating cash flow, rather than through a capital raising or other disclosed funding source. The milestone had already been flagged in the company’s September quarter production update, which reported A$40 million in cash and bullion at 30 September.

Managing Director Brad Valiukas said the repayment demonstrated “the value the Henty acquisition has delivered for Kaiser” (ASX:KAU). He also said the stronger retained cash flow would support ongoing development and mine-life extension programs at Henty, alongside growth at the Maldon Gold Project. Those plans remain forward-looking rather than a new production commitment in this announcement.

Catalyst Metals Obligation Remains

The Auramet loan is not the company’s last gold-linked obligation. Kaiser still owes deferred consideration to Catalyst Metals Limited (ASX:CYL), with 50 ounces due each month through October 2030. After the October delivery, the remaining balance stood at 2,400 ounces.

That leaves a smaller, defined stream of future gold deliveries even as the larger Auramet commitment falls away. The next test is whether the additional retained production translates into the cash generation Kaiser expects while it funds Henty extensions and advances Maldon, where the company is targeting growth from existing processing and underground infrastructure.

Bottom Line?

The balance-sheet milestone improves cash retention, but the next quarterly reports will show whether Henty’s operating cash flow and production can convert that benefit into sustained funding for growth.

Questions in the middle?

  • How much of the released monthly gold production will appear as higher cash and bullion balances?
  • Can Henty maintain the operating cash flow needed for mine-life extension work while meeting its remaining Catalyst obligation?
  • When will Maldon development and exploration begin contributing materially to production or cash flow?
