Seven-Year Billings Clinic Contract Adds A$24 Million
Pro Medicus Limited (ASX:PME) has secured a seven-year, A$24 million contract with Billings Clinic - Logan Health, extending the company’s run of large US healthcare technology wins. The agreement is with the health system’s 25 hospitals and more than 1,000 beds across Montana, northern Wyoming and the western Dakotas.
The contract will be delivered by PME’s wholly owned US subsidiary, Visage Imaging, and uses a transaction-based model. That structure leaves room for additional revenue linked to activity, but the announcement gives no estimate of transaction volumes or the value of that potential upside.
Full Visage 7 Stack Moves Into the Cloud
Billings Clinic - Logan Health will take the full Visage 7 platform, comprising Visage 7 Viewer, Visage 7 Workflow and Visage 7 Open Archive. The cloud implementation also includes the migration of legacy picture archiving and communication system records, alongside image distribution integrated with the health system’s electronic health record.
The win arrives after PME’s Valley Health cloud deal, which was also a seven-year cloud imaging contract targeted for go-live in the first quarter of 2027. Taken together, the announcements point to continued adoption of the company’s cloud-based enterprise imaging offering across sizeable US health networks, although each contract remains subject to its own implementation timetable.
Implementation Starts Ahead of 2027 Go-Live
Planning for the Billings Clinic - Logan Health rollout is due to begin immediately, with go-live targeted for the first quarter of calendar 2027. The announcement does not disclose revenue phasing, implementation costs, margins or the expected contribution from the transaction-based component, leaving the financial impact to emerge through subsequent reporting.
Chief executive Sam Hupert said the customer joins a growing list of Visage 7 clients choosing a fully cloud-based platform, and said PME’s North American pipeline remains strong across market segments. The immediate test is execution: whether the archive migration, workflow deployment and electronic health record integration progress to schedule, and how much usage the transaction model ultimately generates.
Bottom Line?
The contract strengthens PME’s contracted North American opportunity, but implementation progress and transaction volumes will determine how much of the A$24 million opportunity reaches reported revenue.
Questions in the middle?
- How will the A$24 million contract be phased through revenue once implementation begins?
- What transaction volumes and additional revenue could the model generate beyond the stated contract value?
- Will the targeted first-quarter 2027 go-live be achieved across the health system’s broad regional footprint?
