Walker Agreement Adds Long-Dated Maroochydore Contract
Locality Planning Energy Holdings Limited (ASX:LPE) has secured a 15-year Master Services Agreement with Walker Corporation to deliver embedded energy services at SOL by Walker, a two-tower mixed-use development in Maroochydore. The deal gives LPE its first energy services agreement with the national property developer and adds another long-term platform for its infrastructure-led growth model.
SOL is planned to contain 248 residences, alongside ground-floor retail and commercial tenancies. LPE expects approximately 260 service points at completion, with connections added progressively as the two towers are delivered from late 2027.
LPE Will Fund and Operate the Energy Infrastructure
Under the agreement, LPE will fund, install and operate the development’s embedded electricity network. The package includes smart meters for residences and tenancies, instantaneous hot water systems, rooftop solar for common property and electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the car park.
LPE will also supply electricity to residents and tenants and provide metering, billing and customer service for 15 years from completion. The company says the infrastructure will be funded from existing resources and facilities, although the announcement does not disclose the required investment, contract value, expected revenue or margins.
Service Points Will Arrive Behind Construction Progress
The contract lands as LPE works to convert its contracted service pipeline into active recurring revenue, with earlier company coverage noting that activation timing remained uncertain. That uncertainty remains relevant here: LPE says it cannot yet reliably estimate revenue from SOL because the outcome depends on construction, service orders, settlements and tenancy commencements.
Construction began in May 2025, with Walker expecting Stage 1 to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027 and Stage 2 in the first quarter of 2028. The staged rollout means the headline total of 260 service points should not be read as an immediate addition to LPE’s operating base.
Sunshine Coast Partnership Extends LPE’s Developer Reach
The agreement adds a major private developer to LPE’s partner base and strengthens its presence in high-density mixed-use projects across South East Queensland. LPE relocated its head office earlier this year to Walker’s 50 First Avenue tower, adjacent to the SOL site, placing the contract in the company’s home city.
The staged structure also resembles the three-project service expansion previously reported by LPE, where infrastructure investment was expected to translate into revenue only as homes, connections and retail tenancies became operational. The next useful disclosures will be more specific figures around capital spending, service orders and the pace at which the towers move towards completion.
Bottom Line?
The contract strengthens LPE’s long-term development pipeline, but its financial contribution will remain difficult to gauge until construction milestones, investment requirements and occupancy begin translating into live service points.
Questions in the middle?
- How much capital will LPE need to commit to the SOL infrastructure, and how will that compare with the eventual revenue contribution?
- Will Stage 1 and Stage 2 reach completion on Walker’s current timetable?
- How quickly will residences, retailers and commercial tenants settle and commence services once each tower is delivered?
