SaaS growth leads Kinatico’s first-quarter update
Kinatico Limited (ASX:KYP) has opened FY27 with SaaS revenue growth well ahead of its broader top line, as the company shifts its compliance software towards a larger enterprise opportunity. Revenue rose 3.8% year on year to $9.41 million in the unaudited three months to 30 September, while SaaS revenue climbed 17.8% to $5.66 million.
That mix shift lifted SaaS contribution to 60.2% of revenue, up from 53% a year earlier, and pushed annualised SaaS revenue to $22.6 million. Gross profit increased 5.8% to $6.31 million and EBITDA rose 4.3% to $1.51 million, with the EBITDA margin broadly steady at 16%. Net profit after tax, however, fell 10.5% to $0.47 million.
The balance sheet was stronger at quarter-end. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $11.48 million, up $2.05 million from Q1 FY26, while operating cash flow was $0.57 million. Free cash flow was negative $0.17 million after investing outflows, according to the presentation.
Civeo rollout puts compliance platform into production
Kinatico said its Compliance platform is now live at workforce accommodation operator Civeo, following a turnkey implementation completed within four weeks. The initial Australian rollout spans about 10,000 rooms across 12 villages in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, covering roughly 2,500 staff as well as a larger contractor workforce.
The Civeo deployment gives Kinatico a sizeable enterprise implementation to convert into ongoing platform usage, although the presentation does not disclose the contract’s value or revenue contribution. It comes as the company builds on the AI-native compliance platform launch, which earlier coverage described as broadening Kinatico’s addressable market. Kinatico says the platform is designed to verify workforce credentials at source, monitor changes and provide an auditable record across people, systems and AI agents.
New plans change how Kinatico charges for compliance
The company is replacing its previous product structure with three proposed outcomes: Verified, Continuous and Complete. Verified is aimed at point-in-time screening, Continuous adds ongoing monitoring and alerts, while Complete is intended for more complex workforces spanning sites, entities, subcontractors and supply chains.
Kinatico has moved non-monitored verifications outside the plan fee and will charge for them as used. The Continuous plan is priced at $7 per active worker per month plus verification charges, while the Verified plan has no platform fee and uses a pay-as-you-go model. Verified went live on 13 October; Continuous and Complete are scheduled to launch in early November.
OWNA agreement targets Australia and New Zealand childcare
Kinatico has also signed a Heads of Agreement with OWNA Group for a white-label workforce compliance product across OWNA’s childcare platforms, including Infocare in New Zealand. The arrangement is described as exclusive for OWNA across its group and for Kinatico within childcare, with a phased rollout and a framework for further joint development.
OWNA says its platforms serve more than 8,000 childcare centres across Australia and New Zealand. The filing does not disclose contract value, minimum volumes, implementation milestones or revenue timing, so the agreement is a route to potential distribution rather than a quantified earnings commitment at this stage. Sunwater and HanRoy were also identified as new Kinatico Compliance customers, adding critical infrastructure and resources-related use cases to the company’s enterprise push.
Bottom Line?
The next test is whether the new pricing tiers and enterprise deployments turn rising SaaS mix into faster recurring revenue without eroding margins.
Questions in the middle?
- How quickly will Civeo’s production rollout translate into recurring SaaS revenue and wider contractor adoption?
- What commercial milestones and revenue commitments will emerge from the OWNA childcare agreement?
- Can the Continuous and Complete tiers expand customer spend while preserving Kinatico’s 16% EBITDA margin?
