Neu Horizon's Swedish uranium target points to a larger folded structure
Neu Horizon Uranium has defined a more than 2 km electromagnetic conductor at Storvallflon, where five exploration datasets converge on the strongest surface uranium response recorded during its 2026 campaign. The ASX-listed explorer plans 4,000 metres of diamond drilling in the first quarter of 2027, subject to approvals.
- More than 2 km electromagnetic conductor at Storvallflon
- Ground spectrometer readings reached approximately 1,800 ppm U
- Rock-chip assays returned up to 243 ppm U3O8
- 4,000 m diamond drilling programme targeted for Q1 2027
- Approximately A$8.6 million cash at 30 September 2026

Five datasets converge at Storvallflon
Neu Horizon Uranium Limited (ASX:NHU) has found the kind of target junior explorers spend years trying to assemble: a more than 2 km-long electromagnetic conductor coinciding with uranium, magnetic and radon anomalies at its Storvallflon prospect in central Sweden. Airborne EM, drone magnetics, ground radiometrics, radon-gas readings and rock-chip geochemistry all point towards the same broad geological feature.
The company describes the result as the strongest uranium response of its 2026 field campaign. Ground spectrometer readings commonly exceeded 500 ppm U and reached approximately 1,800 ppm U in selected areas. Those figures are field measurements of U238 equivalent, not laboratory assays, an important distinction in an announcement otherwise rich in tempting numbers.
The result follows the completion of Neu Horizon's Swedish uranium campaign, which generated a portfolio of targets ahead of early 2027 drilling. At Storvallflon, 36 rock-chip samples returned uranium oxide values ranging from 4 ppm to 243 ppm U3O8, averaging 67 ppm U3O8, with eight samples above 100 ppm U3O8.
Folded shale creates a larger exploration concept
Three-dimensional inversion of the airborne EM data interprets the conductive black shale as part of an antiformal fold, with only the crest exposed at surface and conductive units continuing down dip on either side. If that interpretation is correct, the visible surface anomaly may represent only part of the geological structure.
That remains an interpretation rather than a discovery of subsurface mineralisation. Neu Horizon has no company drilling at the prospect, and the announcement defines no mineral resource, reserve, grade continuity or economic assessment. The company says drilling is required to test the conductor's depth and continuity, as well as the scale and grade of any uranium mineralisation.
4,000 metres of drilling planned for Q1 2027
Neu Horizon plans to drill 4,000 metres of core across east-west fences, designed to test the conductor's north-south extent and depth continuity. Drill fences are expected to be positioned at roughly 200-metre intervals, although final collar locations remain subject to further interpretation, permitting and work-plan approval from the Swedish Mining Inspectorate.
The programme is fully funded on the company's stated balance sheet. Neu Horizon reported approximately A$8.6 million in cash at 30 September 2026, which it says is sufficient to fund the Storvallflon programme and the two-year Swedish exploration plan outlined in its IPO prospectus. The timing is not guaranteed and remains exposed to approvals, contractor availability, weather and operational constraints.
The grade thesis still rests on an analogy
Neu Horizon is targeting structurally controlled, stockwork-style uranium mineralisation in the deformed Caledonide belt rather than simply pursuing the large but lower-grade profile associated with stratiform black shale. Its geological analogy is the Ronneburg district in Germany, where the company cites historical production at averaged grades above 900 ppm U3O8. It contrasts that with Sweden's Viken deposit, cited at approximately 162 ppm U3O8.
Those comparisons provide the exploration thesis, not evidence that Storvallflon contains similar mineralisation. The company itself cautions that the referenced deposits sit outside its tenements and are not necessarily indicative of results at Krokom. The next meaningful test will come from drill core: whether the interpreted fold contains uranium at grades, thicknesses and continuity that surface geophysics cannot establish.
Bottom Line?
Storvallflon has cleared the target-generation hurdle, but the investment case now depends on permits, drill execution and whether the attractive surface and geophysical signals survive contact with core.
Questions in the middle?
- Will Swedish approvals and contractor arrangements allow the 4,000 m programme to begin in Q1 2027?
- Does drilling confirm uranium mineralisation beneath the interpreted antiformal crest, and at what grades and thicknesses?
- Will the three unreported Krokom prospects produce targets of comparable scale and data convergence?
