Mach7 builds cash momentum as Flamingo nears its market debut
Mach7 Technologies has delivered its first positive first-quarter operating cash flow, while ARR rose 8.5% in constant currency to A$23.5 million. The next test is whether increased product investment and the Flamingo rollout can translate into contracted sales.

- Fourth consecutive quarter of positive operating cash flow
- ARR run rate up 8.5% to A$23.5 million in constant currency

Mach7 crosses its first-quarter cash flow milestone
Mach7 Technologies Limited (ASX:M7T) has reached a milestone its financial history had not previously provided: positive operating cash flow in the first quarter. The enterprise imaging software company generated A$0.3 million from operations in the three months to 30 September, its fourth consecutive positive quarter and a step beyond the positive Q4 cash flow reported earlier this year.
Customer receipts rose 58% from the prior corresponding period to A$7.3 million, while operating activity payments fell 17%. Mach7 ended the quarter with A$19.3 million in cash and no debt, compared with A$18.9 million a year earlier and A$19.9 million at 30 June.
Recurring revenue grows while contracted revenue remains lower
The recurring revenue picture is positive, though not uniformly so. ARR run rate increased 8.5% in constant currency over the year to A$23.5 million, supported by customer expansions, add-ons, new customers going live and services.
Contracted annual recurring revenue was A$25.3 million, down 7.4% in constant currency. Mach7 attributed the decline largely to the discontinuation of the Veterans Health Administration’s NextGen PACS teleradiology program in FY26, under which it was one of several subcontractors to a prime vendor. CARR included A$23.5 million from customers live on the platform and A$1.8 million of contracted backlog.
R&D spending rises as Flamingo approaches RSNA
Mach7 is now putting more money behind the next phase of its product strategy. It capitalised A$0.68 million in development costs during the quarter, up from A$0.27 million a year earlier, as it expanded investment across the product suite.
The centrepiece is Flamingo, a modular architecture built around Foundation, Storage, Worklist, Sonar and Flow. Mach7 plans to demonstrate the five capabilities at the Radiological Society of North America meeting in Chicago from 29 November to 3 December, before targeting an initial early-adopter release. The company says the modular design should let healthcare organisations buy specific workflow or infrastructure capabilities without replacing their entire imaging environment.
The commercial test moves from product design to adoption
Mach7’s strategy is to use the existing installed base as the quickest route to growth, while pursuing new customers and EMR-connected workflows in areas including endoscopy and point-of-care ultrasound. It says modular purchasing could reduce sales friction and, in some cases, avoid a lengthy tender process.
That proposition remains an objective rather than a demonstrated revenue outcome in this update. Management says it is focused on converting product development and customer engagement into qualified opportunities, contracted sales, recurring revenue growth and sustained positive operating cash flow. The early-adopter release and customer response at RSNA will provide the first visible tests of that commercial conversion.
Bottom Line?
Mach7 has created financial room to invest, but the next proof point is whether Flamingo produces contracts rather than simply a larger product catalogue.
Questions in the middle?
- How quickly will the RSNA demonstrations lead to an early-adopter release and contracted revenue?
- Can ARR growth continue while the discontinued VHA program weighs on CARR?
- Will higher R&D investment remain compatible with positive operating cash flow as development accelerates?
