Pureprofile's platform engine powers a record FY27 start

Data and Insights Services By Victor Sage 4 min read

Pureprofile has started FY27 with record quarterly revenue of $18.3 million and EBITDA of $2.4 million, while Platform revenue more than doubled. The ASX-listed data and insights company maintained its revenue guidance and lifted its EBITDA margin outlook to 11% to 12%.

  • Record Q1 revenue of $18.3 million, up 14% year on year
  • EBITDA rises 27% to $2.4 million as margin reaches 13%
  • Platform revenue more than doubles to $8.8 million
  • ANZ revenue climbs 21% to $9.6 million
  • FY27 revenue guidance maintained at $72 million to $75 million

Platform Growth Drives Pureprofile's Strong FY27 Opening

Pureprofile Limited (ASX:PPL) has opened FY27 with its strongest first quarter on record, as revenue growth translated into a sharper improvement in earnings. Revenue rose 14% from the prior corresponding period to $18.3 million, while EBITDA increased 27% to $2.4 million. The figures are preliminary and unaudited, with EBITDA excluding significant items including share-based payments.

The clearest shift came from the Platform business. Revenue from technology-enabled offerings more than doubled to $8.8 million, now representing about 48% of group revenue compared with 26% a year earlier. Pureprofile attributed the increase to wider use of API integrations and automated data delivery solutions, a mix that it says is intended to support further margin expansion as the business scales.

ANZ Growth Offsets a Softer International Volume Trend

ANZ delivered the quarter's strongest regional performance, with revenue rising 21% to $9.6 million. The company said higher project volumes, increased average revenue per project and broader client activity supported the result. The acquired CRNRSTONE qualitative research business was also rebranded as Pureprofile Qual during the quarter and contributed approximately five percentage points to ANZ revenue growth. The acquisition had been covered in the earlier CRNRSTONE acquisition announcement.

Revenue from the rest of the world rose 7% on a reported basis to $8.7 million, or 16% in constant currency. Foreign exchange reduced reported revenue by approximately $0.7 million, reflecting Pureprofile's exposure to US dollar and pound sterling revenue. The company also said project volumes increased, although the rate of volume growth moderated from prior periods and average revenue per project remained broadly stable in constant currency.

Margin Improvement Lifts FY27 Earnings Ambition

EBITDA margin reached 13%, up from 12% in the prior corresponding quarter. Pureprofile said operating expenses grew by about 10%, below the 14% reported revenue increase, while employee expense growth was 5%. That operating leverage is central to the company's case for improving returns as Platform revenue, automation and AI-enabled processes take a larger role. The result extends a run of technology-led growth, following the record FY26 platform growth reported in July.

Pureprofile maintained FY27 revenue guidance of $72 million to $75 million, equivalent to growth of approximately 11% to 15% on FY26. It raised its EBITDA margin outlook to 11% to 12%, compared with 10% in FY26. The guidance assumes current global macroeconomic conditions continue, and the company said its priorities include expanding market share in the larger US and UK markets, deepening existing customer relationships and pursuing targeted, earnings-accretive acquisitions, primarily in the US.

Debt Terms Improve as Client Base Passes 1,000

Pureprofile ended the quarter with 1,035 clients, an increase of 38 during the period, while rolling 12-month annuity revenue edged up to $16.9 million from $16.7 million at 30 June 2026. The company also extended its $2.5 million Commonwealth Bank facility to November 2029, reducing the annual line fee from 4.20% to 2.85%, plus BBSY interest.

The next test is whether the early Platform surge can persist without the benefit of a single exceptional quarter, while international growth converts into reported revenue despite currency movements. Delivering the upgraded margin range will require Pureprofile to keep revenue ahead of costs as it invests in US and UK expansion.

Bottom Line?

Pureprofile has given itself a stronger earnings starting point, but the investment case now turns on sustaining Platform growth and converting international expansion into durable margin gains.

Questions in the middle?

  • Can Platform revenue maintain its more than doubling pace as the comparison base rises?
  • Will US and UK market share gains offset moderated international project volume growth?
  • Can Pureprofile deliver an 11% to 12% FY27 EBITDA margin while continuing targeted investment and acquisitions?
