Aruma Secures New Ground to Push Tillex Copper Trend Beyond 3km

Mining By Maxwell Dee 4 min read

Aruma Resources has agreed to acquire a 90% interest in a patented mineral right at its Tillex project in Ontario, extending the interpreted copper-silver trend by 760 metres. The C$30,000 acquisition adds an untested near-term drilling target while assays from the company’s ongoing Phase 2 program remain pending.

  • 90% interest in PAT4887 acquired for C$30,000 plus a 0.75% NSR royalty
  • Interpreted Tillex mineralised trend extended by 760 metres to approximately 3.2km
  • New ground lies immediately northeast of the existing high-grade zone
  • Phase 2 drilling has extended the continuous high-grade zone 230 metres southwest
  • Assays are pending from holes testing a further 130 metres of strike

New Claim Extends Tillex Trend to 3.2km

Aruma Resources Limited (ASX:AAJ) is adding a strategic piece of ground to its Tillex Copper-Silver Project in Ontario, taking the project’s interpreted mineralised trend to approximately 3.2 kilometres. The company has entered into an agreement to acquire a 90% interest in patented mineral right PAT4887, immediately northeast of the existing high-grade zone.

The acquisition adds about 760 metres of interpreted strike, although the newly acquired ground remains untested. Aruma says the claim sits along the interpreted continuation of the northeast-southwest trending prospective stratigraphy, structural corridor and copper-silver mineralisation at Tillex. The project’s total landholding will rise to approximately 29 square kilometres, according to the announcement.

Low-Cost Acquisition Adds Immediate Drill Target

Under the agreement, Aruma will pay C$30,000 in cash on completion and grant the private vendors a 0.75% net smelter return royalty over minerals extracted from PAT4887. The company said there are no conditions precedent or milestone payments, and that the claim is currently in good standing.

The new ground builds on Aruma’s September Tillex land expansion, which added 32 claims and took the project footprint to about 28.4 square kilometres. This latest transaction is smaller in area but more tightly connected to the current discovery zone, giving Aruma contiguous tenure from which to test the interpreted northeast extension.

Phase 2 Drilling Continues Across Open Mineralisation

Aruma’s Phase 2 diamond drilling is continuing elsewhere at Tillex. The company says drilling has extended the continuous high-grade mineralised zone approximately 230 metres to the southwest, with assays pending from holes testing up to another 130 metres in that direction.

The program is also testing the lateral east-west extent of the zone. That work follows earlier southwest drilling results, which extended the high-grade footprint by 100 metres southwest and 30 metres east. Aruma says the boundaries of mineralisation remain open in all directions, but the announcement provides no new assay results, mineral resource estimate or economic assessment.

Data Review to Precede Northeast Drilling

Aruma plans to compile historical exploration records, integrate geological information from PAT4887 into its Tillex structural model and reprocess geophysical data before generating priority drill targets. Targeted diamond drilling on the new claim is described as a near-term priority.

The immediate investment question is therefore geological rather than financial: whether the interpreted 760-metre extension carries the same copper-silver system identified in the company’s existing drilling. Until fieldwork and assays answer that question, the 3.2-kilometre figure remains an exploration concept rather than a defined resource.

Bottom Line?

The acquisition secures a low-cost, contiguous drilling target, but its value depends on whether testing confirms mineralisation beyond the current Tillex discovery zone.

Questions in the middle?

  • When will drilling begin on PAT4887, and how much of the new claim can be tested in the near term?
  • Will pending Phase 2 assays confirm that the high-grade zone continues beyond the current 230-metre southwest extension?
  • Can Aruma define a coherent mineralised system across the full 3.2-kilometre interpreted trend?
