Radiopharm brings forward FY26 tax incentive funding
Radiopharm Theranostics Limited (ASX:RAD; Nasdaq: RADX) has secured an $8 million cash advance from Rockford Capital against its anticipated FY26 Research and Development Tax Incentive, bringing forward funding that would otherwise be received from the Australian Taxation Office.
The proceeds will support Radiopharm’s clinical trial pipeline and general working capital. The announcement does not disclose the expected total FY26 incentive or the commercial interest rate attached to the facility, so the net cost of the funding remains unclear.
Facility adds liquidity while creating a repayment obligation
The advance is secured against the anticipated tax incentive, with repayment due on 26 October 2027. Radiopharm can repay the facility earlier without penalty, while interest will accrue at a commercial rate.
That structure gives the company immediate access to cash without waiting for the tax incentive to arrive, but it is not free capital. The repayment obligation will need to be met from the eventual R&D incentive or other available funds. The timing is particularly relevant after Radiopharm’s recent cash runway report, which described A$4.1 million in cash at 30 June 2026, A$52.8 million in operating cash outflows and a need for further funding. The earlier report also disclosed a A$56.3 million comprehensive loss for FY26.
Clinical pipeline remains the stated use of funds
Radiopharm is developing radiopharmaceutical products for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in cancer. Its disclosed clinical program includes one Phase 2 trial and five Phase 1 trials spanning solid tumours including lung, breast, prostate and brain cancers.
The new funding arrives as the company prepares for the next stages of its pipeline, including RAD101, its investigational brain metastases imaging agent. Radiopharm recently reported that an FDA End-of-Phase 2 meeting had provided a framework for pivotal development, while formal meeting minutes were still expected to refine trial design and regulatory requirements.
The immediate question is how much of the $8 million will translate into trial progress before the tax incentive is received, and whether the eventual incentive will comfortably cover the facility’s principal and interest. Neither the expected incentive amount nor the facility’s interest rate has been provided.
Bottom Line?
The advance improves near-term liquidity, but its value depends on the size and timing of the FY26 tax incentive and Radiopharm’s ability to fund repayment alongside ongoing trials.
Questions in the middle?
- What is the expected FY26 R&D tax incentive, and how much headroom will remain after principal and interest are repaid?
- How will Radiopharm allocate the $8 million between its clinical programs and general working capital?
- Will further equity or debt funding be required as the company advances multiple clinical trials?
