SCX.ai records positive operating cash flow
SCX.ai Holdings Limited (ASX:SCX) has reached a notable early milestone: its first quarter as a listed company produced positive operating cash flow. Customer receipts reached $1.9 million for the three months to 30 September, generating $963,000 in net cash from operating activities, while the company ended the period with $23.9 million in cash and no borrowings.
The receipts were roughly 3.1 times the $600,000 collected across the prior half-year, although the comparison covers different reporting periods. Total customer receipts for the first nine months of 2026 were $2.5 million. SCX.ai said its lean operating base required $937,000 in payments for research and development, product operations, marketing, staff and administration during the quarter.
ARR rises to $8.3 million after IPO expansion
Annualised recurring revenue reached $8.3 million, up approximately 54% from the $5.4 million disclosed in the prospectus and 27% from the $6.5 million reported at listing. The company also said it had passed 100 commercial customers across enterprise, business, distribution and pay-as-you-go channels.
That growth is being funded by the capital raised in the $40 million sovereign AI IPO, which was fully underwritten and aimed to expand SCX.ai’s Australian AI infrastructure. During the quarter, SCX.ai invested $13.5 million in non-operating activities, including $10.8 million in SambaNova SN40L compute infrastructure at Equinix SY5 in Sydney and $2.7 million in related intellectual property.
Node 2 and new partnerships create the next execution test
Node 1 averaged approximately 50% utilisation across all models, users and use cases during October. SCX.ai cautioned that this is an indicative system-load measure, not a reliable guide to future revenue. The company is planning Node 2 for deployment by the end of calendar 2026, with its first operational customers targeted for early 2027.
SCX.ai also joined the SpaceX Super Intelligence Partner Network and entered a commercial partnership with F5 to provide secure, high-performance AI capacity through its Node 1 and Node 2 infrastructure. The filing describes the F5 arrangement as supporting data sovereignty, tenant isolation and policy enforcement for enterprise and government users, but it does not quantify expected revenue from either partnership.
IPO proceeds remain available for capacity build-out
Financing activities added $35.8 million during the quarter, reflecting the $40 million IPO proceeds less transaction costs of about $4.1 million. Against the prospectus allocation, $19.0 million had been utilised by 30 September, leaving $21.0 million of the planned IPO proceeds unspent. The remaining allocation includes $8.5 million for AI hardware, $9.7 million for working capital and $2.8 million for managed AI services.
The immediate question is whether SCX.ai can sustain the shift from infrastructure commissioning to repeatable commercial growth. Node 2, customer activation in early 2027 and evidence that the SpaceX and F5 relationships generate measurable demand will provide more meaningful tests than the current quarter’s encouraging cash-flow inflection.
Bottom Line?
SCX.ai enters its next phase with cash, customers and positive operating cash flow, but Node 2 and partnership revenue must now validate the model’s scalability.
Questions in the middle?
- Can SCX.ai maintain positive operating cash flow as it expands its go-to-market team and deploys Node 2?
- How quickly will Node 2 attract its targeted first customers in early 2027?
- Will the SpaceX and F5 partnerships produce measurable recurring revenue, or mainly strengthen the platform’s distribution and positioning?
