Xpedra prepares major Springfield drilling campaign after broad gold results
Xpedra Resources has completed its first 31 Springfield RC holes with broad gold mineralisation now traced across 400 metres of strike and open at depth and along strike. A larger 4,000 to 5,000 metre drilling campaign is due to begin shortly, while the company has added the historic Neeld Gold Project to its NSW portfolio.
- Best Springfield intercept reaches 94m at 2.00g/t gold, including 13m at 10.21g/t
- Second-phase drilling extended known mineralisation at depth
- Third-phase RC program to test Springfield's northern 1.1km strike extension
- Neeld acquisition adds a historic 439,000oz West Wyalong goldfield project
- Cash at 30 September stood at approximately $2.2 million

Springfield drilling moves from discovery to expansion
Xpedra Resources Limited (ASX:XPD) is taking its Springfield gold discovery into a larger testing phase after completing assay reporting for the first 31 RC holes. The drilling has outlined broad gold mineralisation across more than 400 metres of strike and to roughly 150 metres vertically, with the system still open in both directions.

The standout result remains 94 metres at 2.00g/t gold from 80 metres in hole SFRC025, including 13 metres at 10.21g/t. Other shallow intersections included 44 metres at 2.03g/t from 1 metre and 24 metres at 2.97g/t from surface. These are exploration results, not a mineral resource estimate, but the repeated widths and shallow positions have given Springfield a substantial target for follow-up work. The same headline intersection had featured in the 94m Springfield intercept reported in earlier coverage.
Deeper holes extend the mineralised system
The four-hole second phase added evidence below the initial drilling. SFRC030 returned 64 metres at 1.34g/t from 140 metres, including 21 metres at 2.41g/t and a 10-metre zone at 3.68g/t. SFRC031 delivered 27 metres at 1.50g/t from 140 metres, while SFRC029 intersected 16 metres at 1.24g/t from 197 metres.

Xpedra says the results extend the known depth of Springfield and show gold continuing below the shallower zones. The next campaign will test that interpretation directly, alongside the high-grade zones and the untested northern continuation of the host monzodiorite intrusion.
4,000 to 5,000 metres targets northern strike
A drilling contractor has been engaged for a third-phase RC program scheduled to start in the coming days, subject to requisite approvals. The campaign will target a completely undrilled 1.1-kilometre northern strike extension, down-dip ground beneath the existing 400-metre corridor, and extensions around the 13-metre high-grade zone in SFRC025.

Historical shallow aircore work in the northern area identified arsenic anomalism and several shallow gold intersections, including 2 metres at 1.43g/t. Two holes ended in gold mineralisation, leaving the mineralised zone open beneath them. Xpedra has also collected about 750 soil samples across a 14-square-kilometre area along a wider 7-kilometre structural corridor. The filing says assays are expected during November 2027, a date that appears inconsistent with the September 2026 reporting period and will need clarification.
Neeld acquisition broadens the NSW gold pipeline
During the quarter, Xpedra completed its acquisition of the Neeld Gold Project for $250,000 in cash and 44 million shares. The project covers part of the historic West Wyalong Goldfield, where recorded production totalled approximately 439,000 ounces at an average grade of 41g/t gold. The company says modern exploration has been limited, with only four holes drilled deeper than 200 metres across the project area.

Neeld's historical workings provide a second exploration story, particularly below the shallow stopes and around the Mallee Bull Reef Line. Xpedra also says historical drilling identified gold in tailings near surface, creating a possible avenue for evaluating tailings reprocessing alongside deeper resource exploration. At 30 September, the company held approximately $2.2 million in cash and reported $624,000 of exploration expenditure for the quarter, leaving the immediate drilling program funded but keeping future funding needs relevant to the pace of exploration.
Bottom Line?
Springfield's next drilling phase is the key test: the market now has to see whether strong widths and open extensions translate into a coherent mineralised system large enough to support a resource estimate.
Questions in the middle?
- Will drilling confirm continuous gold mineralisation across the untested 1.1-kilometre northern extension?
- Can deeper drilling establish a consistent down-dip zone beneath the 400-metre corridor?
- How quickly will the $2.2 million cash balance be drawn down as Springfield and Neeld exploration expands?
